10.3.9 had better fix the dissapearing mouse pointer bug on powerbooks. It has long since passed the point of being annoying/tedious/infuriating.

Sharing the mouse misery

For the record, my Dual 2.0 has had a host of mouse pointer problems since upgrading to 10.3.8...

You KNOW it's bad when both portables as well as desktops share the same problems!

sleep issues

I use the M-Audio firewire 410 with my 12"PB 876Mhz; while the 410 is hooked up the computer will sleep on its own, but if I try to force it to sleep, it hangs. BOLLUCKS! Even after I've disconnected it, sometimes it will hang. I am losing sleep!

And on another note, I can't stop daydreaming of Tiger.

I wonder how many more Panther updates there are going to be with Tiger on the horizon? Especially with this apparent increased frequency of releases...

Tiger is another 3 month away at least... with one panther update every 2 month - that would make a .10 still possible

No mention of the Mac Mini DVI-D static bug being fixed...

Pretty pathetic that Apple doesn't acknowledge the issue.

G5 works fine with my $1500 monitor... a PC running a GeForce 6800 runs fine... but a driver issue still affects the mini's ATI 9200 from working properly using DVI.

If the news of Tiger release is true for April, then the 10.3.9 will be occurring within weeks, Chances are it will be the last.

10.3.9 needs to update the fan problem on dual G5s. It seems the fans kick in after a long processor intensive task has completed, and not during. The fan problem is the only thing that currently affects me.

I guess 10.3.9 will be the last update for Panther, regardless if Tiger comes out in April or May (or even early June). Unless 10.3.9 causes more problems than it solves but let's not hope for such a scenario.

I wouldn't rule out a 10.3.10 update. Then I can be running Palindromic Panther!

If this ends up being true. Then we are looking for Steve to announcement for the Tiger release date at WWDC.

10.3.9 definitely will be the last Panther update. Unless they royally screw up and have to release another. But given Apple's track record, I'm not wagering any bets.

I think you could be right. Except for maybe some security updates. Apple can always release minor bug fixes hidden in a security update. It's been done before.

Well maybe next Tuesday. Other wise if the rumor is true 10.3.9 could be available for download on the same day that Tiger release date announcement is made.

10.3.9

Then Tiger is not coming out on April 15th...previous rumors...doesn't make sense to release 10.3 update when Tiger is coming out in 2 weeks..
