This is all highly amusing; being on the receiving end of some Mac-head's ire because I dare to question the Emperor's new clothes.![]()
New clothes? He's had those jeans on for the past twenty years

From what I've seen it looks cheap, even the rumoured Leopard disc packaging and the released intro movie. It's just getting full of visual spack... like a cheap toy; all plastic chrome, transparency and reflections. The new Dock is particularly ugly... but then again, some people like it. Some people like Vista. Doesn't mean I have to.
Heh, you obviously don't know me.![]()
I've been around the block here and have seen the hype build up about OS releases, the hysteria on release day, and the inevitable disappointments and problems.
. And it takes more than some glossy features to make the upgrade case for me to be compelling... an improved Finder and Spotlight sound good though.
Quit iCal.
One question came up, are Finder and Spotlight able to see/use keywords in the metadata of photos (JPGs, raw files)?
Thanks,
E
How many previews does it take to get to Gold Master? There are 14 so far
it happens whenever they decide that it is stable enough to release there is not a set number of builds.
OffT: XP was only released 6 years ago…
OnT: Come hell or highwater Leopard will be released in Oct.
yeah but how many did it take tiger until it got released?
Windows XP w/SP2 is currently more stable then both Leopard 527 and Tiger 10.4.10. Under Windows I don't have issues with USB devices not getting recognized or application which crashed without notice etc. Annoying.

Given how many people I know are using beta builds of Leopard surprisingly reliably, I wont be waiting for 10.5.1.. I'll steam right in with 10.5.0 just as I did with 10.2.0, 10.3.0 and 10.4.0
IMO, 10.26.2007 will be release.
Hopefully they fix the bug with deep sleep I am having and iMovie '08 hasn't launched since 3 previews ago. Clean install and everything.
Wouldn't Friday 10.5.2007 be more appropriate?
Apple has traditionally always released OS X releases on Friday. This is definitely a possibility, but it seems really early. ><
Apple has done a lot for the UI with expose, the dock, mouse, icons etc. You'll notice that these features are not simply "WOW" that can easily wear off but something that's simple, out of the way and while increasing productivity. Then we find that we can't live without these features. Apple is doing exactly this by going beyond a solution to another step in advancing toward an ultimate harmony between user, functionality and productivity.
