Now it says Beta 2 again LOL. I saw this as well, reloaded the page a few minutes later and it was back to beta 2.
The downloader says "Big Sur Release Candidate." Hell, it had better be a release candidate by now!

LOL indeed it does! They are confused themselves, I guess.

Well, I finally upgraded to Big Sur (yes, it shows 11.0.1 Beta in "About This Mac") so there's no going back now for me.

Still says 'Release Candidate' for me.

I just got my first new 'Mac' about a month ago. 27" iMac. Love this thing! And I was looking forward to Big Sur mainly for Safari update to stream 4k. But since I have to wait, I've been using MS Edge browser. I know I may get some hate for this, but I'm absolutely loving the Edge browser! I'm kind of glad that Safari was behind in this because it made me seek out alternatives.

Having said that, I'm still looking forward to the official update to Big Sur, and will more than likely go back to using Safari. But it's been nice to use the alternative for now.
Out of curiousity, why do you love it? What's better about it?

Is this a good build to do a clean install with now or should I wait for GM? I installed Big Sur pretty much the next day after getting my Mac Mini and my space on my drive has filled up too fast. Need to do a clean install.

WatchOS never caused an issue. First beta of 11.0.1 did.
from the watchOS 7.1 release notes:
"- Resolves an issue that prevented some users from unlocking a Mac with Apple Watch"

there are also plenty user reporting unlock issues with Catalina ...

If you're doing a clean install, at this point you might as well wait.

WOW.

Today is my first experience with Big Sur. I wanted to wait until the RC or final release was out because I know that 3rd party developers would be ready to release their updates, should I have any problem. My biggest concerns were with Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Audition) as well as Drobo Desktop for my Drobo 5D connected to my 2019 MacBook Pro. No issues there.

So far, I'm blown away. I also seemed to gain a TON of disk space. Maybe Big Sur went to Jenny Craig?

It looks awesome, and so far zero issues after a few hours of playing with it and testing critical apps I use.

The only thing that so far hasn't worked as well as I had hoped is the AirPod Pro switching between my iPad Pro, iPhone 11 Pro, and Mac. It seems to want to work when it wants to.

But *finally* I have 4K YouTube videos in Safari without having to switch over to Chrome. Thank God.
