Will this fix the popup message we were all getting about downloading a new beta?
*I'll tell you in a short while, actually I am 100% sure it will for the sole reason that Apple normally won't release Updates on Friday evenings (Europe time).
Apple wouldn't have waited for Monday to fix this since it seems like the pop-up is widespread and annoys people.

Edit:
*It did

I wonder if this will fix being able to stream Dolby Vision from iPhone 12 to ATV 4K. Currently it doesn’t work for anybody. Will have to test out when I get home.

I don’t understand exactly what is exactly the new feature with the HomePod and the Apple TV 4K, I mean, I know what Dolby Atmos is, but it says that you are able to connect the HomePod for stereo sound which was already a feature a long ago.

Anyone figure where/how this works " it allows the HomePod to be connected to the Apple TV 4K for stereo, surround sound, and Dolby Atmos audio. " ?
HomePod could always be connected to ATV as I recall, you hold down HOME button, and select HomePod as a speaker....

the beta that is out will set the HomePods as default speaker if you like. and enable dolby sound once the GM is released to public and you can update your homepod OS to 14.2

If only I had been more patient. I downgraded to 14.1 then realized my Apple Watch data wouldn’t restore any later than 9/7. I then reinstalled 14.2 and restored from back up.

Most of my Apple Watch data is back, but not all. My achievement badges haven’t come back yet. I only have last month. Oh well.

Interesting. Right now the HomePod supplements my 5.1 stereo system (HomePod sits in the kitchen). I'll see if this new feature is beneficial for the household

Would now be a good time to remind everyone that different teams work on each aspect? The emoji "team" and the "reminders" team are separate groups. It's not like the same people work on everything.
Yes, but the Entitled think it's funny, so they keep spouting it.

“- Voice Memos recordings are interrupted by incoming calls”

does this mean Apple is changing their stance on call recording? If a call comes through and it continues recording, is it only recording your voice not the phones internal audio? What about if you put the phone on speaker, is it now recording both sides of the call? Can someone on beta confirm

Optimized battery charging for AirPods to slow the rate of battery aging by reducing the time your AirPods spends fully charged

Finally. I remember this was announced during WWDC but never materialized with 14.0 or 14.1. I assumed it got scrapped.

Seriously.

*Removes beta profile quickly once upgrade is completed.
I had already removed mine and was waiting for a public release, but now I had to reinstall the beta to download this update. I'll remove it again and wait for the next public release now.

If anyone is having trouble getting this to show up, reinstall your beta profile. Mine went away after I did a reset and I was scratching my head wondering how nobody else was having issues getting this to download.

I really hope this finally fixes the keyboard lag issue. How it has persisted through ~8 betas, 14.0.x, 14.1, and 14.2 through beta 4 is beyond me.
I know it’s an extreme measure, but I had the lag on 14.0; 14.0.1 and 14.1. Set my phone up as new last week; hasn’t happened since.

So it looks like that John Prosser was right, and 14.3 will be out with the airtags. Here’s my prediction:
November 2 or November 4: iOS 14.2, tvOS 14.2, watchOS 7.1, and HomePod OS 14.2 are all released to the public.
November 10: Apple announces event for November 17, and also releases Big Sur 11.0 GM.
November 16: HomePod mini ships running iOS 14.2.
November 17: apple ships new 16 inch Intel MacBook Pro running 11.0.
Mid December: Apple releases iOS 14.3, tvOS 14.3, watchOS 7.2, and Big Sur 11.0.1 to the public.
Also mid December: Apple releases 12 inch Apple silicon powered MacBook running 11.0.1, air tags which require 14.3, and the leather sleeve, smart battery case, and magSafe duo.
