True. But aren't you who is negative in the first place?
Let me expand.
Mind is a very powerful thing, even more powerful than we give it credit for. Thoughts such as "I cannot do this, "what's the point", "I am not good as the next guy/girl", "I will never be successful like that"...and many other thoughts that someone with loser mindset can come up with, are gonna paralyze you at subconscious level, and make you fail, even before you really tried anything.
If Steve Jobs said "Look at how huge and powerful HP is, I am never gonna get big as them", back when he was young, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation on this forum. There wouldn't really be "MacRumors". He didn't gave damn about HP, except asking for some minor assistance.
Therefore focus on your goal, do not let your passion be strangled by doubts and loser thoughts.
Firstly, I'm not being negative ... I'm inquiring with a question.
Society has a much larger hold and shape on the mind: especially words! They have a more lasting affect at a
subconscious level - should one not have the background to negate such affects. (
I'll not get into the dictionary of words and how it has affected my psyche over the years as that will derail into madness).
Let's focus on your reply:
Mind is a very powerful thing = Indeed it is a Powerful thing in our universe!
Our minds, the conscious minds are shaped by nature and heavily by nurture (Family/Friends/environmentally social experiences). Your experiences and those in the same neighbourhood as where I've grown up and lived is going to be very different.
loser mindset = again NOT helpful nor positive to someone with no idea of programming at all (Me) yet wants to learn and has but an inkling of what I'd like to program. By asking question specific to my idea I risk loosing out on a great opportunity. Right now I know iOS/WatchOS hardware does not yet support what I'd like to code for but I'm sure soon enough it will as will the API.
^ 'loser mindset' is borderline insulting and not really needed. You could've just said
self-defeating mindset. I do heavily am grateful for your reply and will take it as positive criticism in lieu of your lesson above which I think is helpful.
We all have doubts in anything in this world. Conversely, being overly confident leads to not improving on on-self or being open to learn more and can be just as negative outwardly to new engagements, new minds, and being able to productively and positively work with people towards a common or binary individual goal.
e.g. Steve Jobs and the Macintosh team visited Xerox learning from the Alto machines for UI etc. Jobs hubris failed (admitted by Jobs himself on one of Mossberg's AllThingsDigital interviews) missed out on Networking.
Therefore focus on your goal, do not let your passion be strangled by doubts and loser thoughts.
VERY helpful and positive! I'll definitely will remember this and focus.
