Our 2+ year old second gen 4K ATV died a month ago. I bought the media remote for our PS5 to give me some time to think about when to buy new ATV.

To my surprise everyone (including me) have been using the PS5 as media center just fine and none of us wants to buy new ATV.

Seeing your guys’ issues with sound, I am actually grateful that I’m not alone, since I also did a TV firmware update recently. I have been going crazy thinking the TV is at fault, since it does not support downgrades.

But yes, this is bad, Apple!
If the devices rely on hdmi to connect, power down all hdmi devices and reboot. Sometimes hdmi handshake gets messed up in the updates

It's still there for me under Settings-->Audio-->Enhance Dialogue. It disappeared for me a couple betas previously but a restart of the HomePods and Apple TV made it reappear. It also only appears if you have the default audio set to your HomePods on the Apple TV.

It works for the Minis and the original Homepods or only for the new second gen Homepods?

For me, the one missing feature, and I don't understand why, is 'Picture in Picture'.
The number of times I want to look for something else while still watching what I am until I find something.

I haven't seen any news on an updated tvOS App Store.

The tvOS App Store has actually gotten worse since its introduction in 2015, it definitely needs to be revamped.
It’s a mess. The US AppStore in the main screen doesn’t show the option to view the complete app chart. I used to be able to do that. Plus the tvOS App Store is hardly curated. They spotlight some apps that have been discontinued by their authors months if not years ago and only show a blank screen once you launch them. What a disgrace for Apple

So after some extra testing, the Find option shows up every time my Apple TV remote is "not connected" to my Apple TV 4K second generation using the Remote app on my iPhone 12. It does not show up on an iPad 7 or an iPad Pro 3, both updated with the latest betas.
I finally managed to see the find me button after a cold restart, but it disappeared once I switched to another device in the remote app.

To everyone in this thread that has been having sound issues, you should try resetting your Apple TV to factory defaults and reconfigure.

I had crackling sound issue when turning on Apple TV with the latest tvOS betas and resetting seems to have made it go away. Fingers crossed as today's the third day that I haven't had crackling issues. But who knows.

Try resetting and setting it back up. Maybe it could also work for you.
