Why should we trust this zipped application from a newbie.:roll eyes:
Could be anything.

++++++++

I tried to install the latest 10.9.3 beta, guess what, it got stuck halfway, had to manually force a shut down, luckily it didn't install.
Never had this before, will try again in a moment.

Hahaha newbie only here but not elsewhere big up your mindset and respect people !

You are not obliged to trust it and try it neither, so love it or leave it peace of mind pls :)

This app helps to check the changes between installed build and the next one by date. That's it :)

it's easy to install i guess, i had no prob with !

Didn't really want to 'hurt' anybody, it's just not good advise to download a zipped file from an 'unknown' person.
You could be the nicest guy in the world, fact is, we don't know you, if you were a long time member, posting a lot we know you and trust you, since you are not I(we) won't download anything from you.
But, I do know OS X is fairly safe, no (known) viruses out in the open, I am not paranoid about it, but we just don't know you.
;):)

Reminds me of this.

What crashes? I've had zero.

Isn't that precious - the crashes he's been having, and I've been having and a number of other people who've been having them and complaining on various forums. I have a brand new, top-specc'ed 27" iMac and every HW test there claims my machine is OK, but I've been experiencing random kernel panics that seem related to webkit and video... Games work perfectly, but websites such as HBO GO crash the system. If you have no crashes it doesn't mean Mavericks is perfect and other people are trouble-free. Suck it up and move on, not even Apple makes flawless software.

Hi all...

Do people here find that external devices (hard drives/ flash etc.) info stays in tact ? or do you have issues with OS X wiping after unplugging ? :apple:

I have a 1TB elements that i don't don't this to happen to, so a bit flakey about connect directly to this mac.

I do have backup's, but 1TB would take to to re-do if i must re-do it

os x beta seed program

btw this update is now available for anyone interested (even non-apple developers) by joining the os x beta seed program and test driving it and giving apple feedback, is this new ?

I just signed up for the beta program, so I don't know how knew this is and can't find it in the release notes. Right after I installed the latest 10.9.3 beta, a notification popped up saying, "Optimizing Your Mac". It also said it may use more power and be less efficient and fast until it was completed. Anyone know what it actually does? Is it the new way to tell you that it's indexing your computer?

Since the last 10.9.2 update my system uptime is 55 days, 19 hours and 37 minutes and it works as fast as before. I use my macbook everyday for hours and it is much faster than any other os, period! So i hope they won't break nothing in 10.9.3 :)

i signed up for that appleseed program to try out 10.9.3, i am running a late 2012 Mac Mini..with the Intel HD 4000..i dont see any high rez options for my monitor..the best i can get is 1080P...is there a way to see the other options?

System Prefs/Display, hold down the option key and click on Scaled

thanks..that works (kind of), but the highest rez is still 1080P...
How are you connecting to the external monitor?
What cable, adapters? The HDMI has res limitations I have heard, but I must admit I don't know much about that. I have a 23" IO-Data monitor connected to my 2011 Mac mini (mini DP to DVI adapter, Apple brand) and without that Option click trick, i got the same 1080P, which looked stretched out and weird.
With the Option Click, I was able to choose a higher resolution and it has stuck since then.
Might try clearing the PRAM (Option+Command+P+R held down on boot for 2 Bongs) followed by the Option click again.

i am actually using the thunderbolt port connected to an accell adapter to run to the seiki 39" tv...i guess this config doesn't work..

the interesting thing is that during boot up with the grey apple logo, the rez says 3840 x 2160 at 30hz, but once it boots all the way and the desk top shows up, the rez is back to 1080p

Is anyone seeing a more sluggish osx after installing the beta, compared to 10.9.2 ? Or is the general concent they the betas improve responsiveness?

I haven't seen a significant performance difference under 10.9.3. It's mostly a bug fix and graphics driver update.

Mail.app is much improved, however, particularly when interacting with Gmail. No more hangs, more responsive, does what it's supposed to do. :)

My guess is that we'll get one more beta before GM.

Have they got rid of the constant reloading when going "back" a page, does anybody know?
