Whats the hurry?
I know that many of you are avid mac users and very excited in anticipation of the new release of Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Surely many smaller updates and bug fixes will be to come in the time following its release as more people are upgrading to the new version of the OS. I personally plan to hold off for at least 6 months before upgrading for the following reasons:
1) As with any previous release of the Mac OS, refinements and updates are issued to improve and stabilize the system. I will wait for this version of the OS to mature at least to the upgrade / stability level of the current release version 10.5.7
2) By the time Snow Leopard is likely updated and further refined for at least 6 months, it will be time for me to upgrade my hardware (which currently is less than one year old - albeit reportedly not fully supported in the 'current seed' of Snow Leopard (OpenCL on ATI Radeon 2600 HD Pro in an Aluminum iMac 24"))
3) Giving time for software developers to upgrade / update their products to take advantage of the new technologies Snow Leopard has to offer and to work out some likely potential incompatibilities and possible instabilities.
4) An excellent opportunity to practice patience.
PS - The pictures and clippings of the new OS interface enhancements to me look amazing. I like the direction Apple is taking to suit and please the masses (but you cant please them all right?)
I most certainly will upgrade to Snow Leopard, just a little later than many of you eager beavers. I am confident that Apple will get it right by the release date of Snow Leopard.... and improve upon it over time.
Just my own humble opinions and ideas on how I personally prefer to enjoy the Mac OS X experience. best wishes to all
