No I haven't, what is that? Seriously though, 12 pages?

So well before I made this post?

When did the truth finally come to light exactly?
I get daily summaries sent & I tend to skim through....

What do you call this:

Apple Announces August 28th Availability of Snow Leopard

How about visiting the 'MacRumors.com News Discussion' instead of locking yourself to one solitairy thread.

Thanks! Hmm, approx. four hours before I made my post...

Oh well, it may still be handy to those whom aren't religiously visiting such forums / new sources.

Oh & it's "solitary" ;)

cisco client does work shimo 2.x does not, shimo 1.0.7 does

Can anybody confirm if the Cisco VPN client works in SL?

Hi,

Cisco VPN Client 4.9.01.0180 works without flaws. You don't need the client any longer though. As of 10.6 MacOSX supports the cisco vpn ipsec protocol. Open the network prefpane. Hit the plus button under the network adapter list (where airport, ethernet, etc is listed.) Choose VPN (Cisco IPSec). Enter the required data (user, password, vpn server). You can apply a certificate or enter a shared secret (group password) via the advanced button.

If you have an profile (.prc) file you can find the necessary data there. If you don't know the group password, open the profile.prc file in textedit and copy the line after enc group pwd. use this:

http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/~massar/bin/cisco-decode

to get the password in clear text.

Back in the network prefpane, enter the password into the shared secret field, do not past it.

That's it. Works great here.

PS:
Shimo 2.x does not work and gives driver errors. Shimo 1.0.7 (you need cisco vpn client installed for version 1.x) works very well. But then again you don't need shimo either, if it's just about cisco VPN IPSec.
