iOS firmware updates every 6 weeks or so will continue until eternity, or when Apple sinks below the waves.
  1. They are always risky
  2. Over time, enough of them will slow down your device to make it unbearable to use
  3. The installations will always be wasting your time as long as you own an iOS device
  4. Either embrace it and download updates forever, or install a tvOS profile and be done with the annoyance forever.
Updates are not risky, have not slowed my phone down and they don't waste my time is the other side.

I have fun with new updates.

Tin foil hat much? I've never once had an issue with an update. They are not risky. They slow down when you install an iOS version that is 4+ years newer than the hardware. Updates secure your phone. I will take security over anything. Not updating is more risky.

ios 10.2.1 beta 2 has more new emojis, tents, volcanos, redesigned snowflake and snowmen, pink tip added to the tip of the rubber in notes, colour pallets look bigger, if i find anymore i will advise

My old 6 was suffering from the battery issue; testing a full DFU install of 10.2 and sync with iCloud with no restore of old data and so far it seems stable.

Colleague at work just piped up about the battery issue after updating to 10.2 sometime last week so clearly software-related...

Has not happened once on any of my devices or anyone in my family.

OK. I don't want to jinx it but 25 minutes and I've only had one small stutter. Typically in this amount of time I would've had multiple. More testing to come.
I'm presuming an AT&T or T-Mobile model 7/7+, and having significant stuttering/static/dropouts when connected to a vehicle's bluetooth for streaming audio? (apparently happens on bt speakers too)

If so, I'm thrilled at that news, but I've had "good days" before and it went back to **** later... So, I really won't know until I get a bit more usage on mine.

But it doesn't affect everyone. And seems to only affect a small percentage. So it must be a hardware/software combination.

I had it once if ever on iOS9 (in 5 months of device ownership), regularly (like every day or two) on 10.1.1, and has already happened twice since I upgraded to 10.2 o_O

Ip6 on 10.2 and my battery has been hunky since the update. Goes from 50% to shut down in a heartbeat. Hopefully it's a software thing and not my phone/battery going belly up.

I hope one of those bug fixes includes being able to see your home videos without turning off Wifi. I have that issue with my iPad mini 4. My 6s is fine, well, as fine as that crappy TV app can be in its current form. Anyone found another, more permanent solution to that problem. I tried my support app, but the senior advisor was unable to help me during our chat.
It didn't fix the videos issue for me. Still requires me to have the "Videos" app installed - an app that Apple removed from my phone and from the App Store. Using 3rd Party video players now, so I don't have to deal with the POS TV app.

This is not the ideal solution, but I get no skipping when i turn off LTE on my Att 7plus

sorry, yes. iPhone 7+ (ATT) - bluetooth streaming stutters since day one... 2016 Range Rover Sport. this is the first build Ive had good experience with - over an hour now with 3 stutters...

Agreed; not saying it affects everyone. However, the fix in my circumstance was to DFU + no restore which indicates a software-related, not hardware-related issue (battery tested in the "healthy" range according to store diagnostics).

Just wish they'd hurry up and identify what the issue is...

My guess is because its sporadic and doesn't affect everyone its hard to pinpoint. I'm guessing that the battery diagnostic that was added in 10.2 will be able to pinpoint the exact cause, but what do I know. I guess its something that those affected can hope for.

[doublepost=1482312837][/doublepost]No update available for me yet (I'm in France), though it's been advertised on several French websites...

Could it be specific to other devices than my iPhone 6?

Same here. I could literally watch the battery % decrease while scrolling a page up in Chrome or Safari (can't remember which one I was using now). I've never seen it this bad on my 6 before - except for one time using 10.1 where it did shut down with at least 30% left and wouldn't come back on until the charger was plugged in. The really screwy part is that simply plugging it in to the charger will make it immediately go up 10-12% in some cases.

I never allowed automatic sending of diagnostic data, but I have turned that on now.

Is it IP 7/6s/6?
Mine is an iPhone 6, relatively new too as it was replaced earlier this year following an accident.

OK must not be happening then.

This is exactly what is happening to mine!

Can someone tell me what the build number is for this second beta, please? Still no update being pushed to my device, running build number 14D10... :(

EDIT: for some reason, my profile to test beta updates was missing. Just reinstalled it; the update should appear now...
