Hopefully this fixes the AirPods bluetooth issue as well as the webcam flickering for EU users.

One of the things I am not a fan of in Big Sur is the lack of ability to reply to iMessage notifications, unless I am missing something?

Maybe in a later release they will give notifications more APIs that allow for quick actions with the notification system, such as taking calls from Teams.
You should see a down pointing chevron (or a “...”, can’t remember off hand) on the notification. Click that and the notification expands to show the text field.
It would be nice if they went back to Reply and Dismiss buttons like before when times were simpler and things made sense.

Anyone running the current beta have any information on changes in time machine? Since Catalina I have been unable to retrieve individually deleted emails and contacts from core apps that I have always been able to do with Time Machine. Many of us have filed bugs with Apple regarding this issue which has been open and acknowledged since Catalina.

Opening mail then Time Machine should show backups of emails since the first backup, allowing you to retrieve a deleted email. Same with contacts and apples core apps.

I filed bugs and worked with Apple engineers on this issue who initially stated it was a bug and now are claiming in order to retrieve lost information you must restore an entire back up which defeats the purpose.

now some of us are getting information that it is an open bug and Apple is trying to fix it. I’m considering going back to Mojave as this functionality was a necessary feature. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been saved by recovering a deleted email Especially as .Mac/iCloud has had numerous issues since 2007. I simply don’t understand why they’re crippling a core feature of their OS.

- and it has nothing to do with the changes in how the OS handles data on two different volumes. The backups are still there what changed is the ability to restore information within a core app. Time machine loads it and will sometimes show the data yet you cannot retrieve it. In other instances it doesn’t show any data points saved at all.

Can someone who installed it check if this very serious problem has been solved?

Thanks

had to go back to Catalina . big sur had big issues !
a) random permission error in applications.
b) ms office does not open in " read only" in case same file is open by other users on the office network .
will wait for at least 2 more updates to big sur to check on my matchbook before I move to big sur on my work iMac.

I'm on an Intel-based MacBook Pro. Was all fine prior to 11.2. Since then one of my external displays will only display at a much lower blurry resolution with an off colour. The EDID isn't being read from the display correctly. Boot into Windows via boot camp and everything is fine. It's killing me as it renders the display pretty much unusable. And I've also noticed a intermittent lag in the mouse pointer.
Download SwitchResX - you shouldn't have to of course, but it will fix your issue for you whilst you wait for Apple to fix it for you

the combo "cmd + shift + ." to reveal hidden files doesn't work anymore, is it just me or it's a general thing ?

I wonder if this update will help my M1 MacBook Air with an annoying Safari problem? My M1 MBA tends to restart out of the blue while I'm watching random YouTube videos. But it never does this when I use Chrome.

Anyone else have this problem?

Anyone happen to be using an m1 mac and dell monitor? If so has the problem with not allowing rgb mode on the monitor been solved?
