Because we like to be on the bleeding edge 🤪😜

I too was once that like ... until installing the first version of an OSX software bricked my computer, putting at risk all the data I had (this was in the days before the Cloud). So now I gratefully rely on people like you, while I wait till the circus is over before updating. These days, it's easier to do that because, for my needs, most of the macOS and iOS updates are of little interest to the needs of basic everyday computing.

I would not run a beta OS on my iMac that has all my photos, music, movies etc… luckily I have my MBP that has no critical data (it’s my travel photo companion)

Why would anyone bother beta testing this if there’s no known new functionality?

Just wait two months until this release is out
Thats a very consumer/individual orientated reply.
If you manage 100's or 1000's of Mac's via MDM there are a number of bug fixes (not features) and I can safely say two of the noted fixes and ones we were waiting for since October.

Minor bug: Is you have another browser chosen as your default browser and then use the control-click "Look Up" feature (e.g., in Mail or Safari Tech Preview), the search will open in Safari, not your default app.

Is anybody on here going to test any of these GPUs?
I can testify as an owner of an 6800 card (ASRock RX 6800 Phantom D) that it is working perfectly. Games tested so far : Metro Exodus (mac) and TombRaider (mac). Can play smoothly in 4k and ultra settings. Geekbench score around 105.000 in a egpu box (sonnet 650). Valley bench test 4k max settings are around 80 fps average (egpu connected to mac mini i7 3,2 Ghz and 32 Gb ram). My analysis: it’s a beast of a gpu !

Is this in a Mac Pro or an EGPU? Anyone on here try it for video editing? That's what I'm really interested in.
Edit: Didn't see that you mentioned the sonnet 650.

Mac mini i7 to sonnet egpu through hdmi to epson 4K projector.

With this build I started to see again Bluetooth issues which had disappeared with 11.2 and 11.3.

I like to install betas as soon as they come out, then moan that the release notes no longer mention anything and that all the bugs which affect me aren't fixed.

I wouldn't be able to do that as often if I stuck with the public releases :)

Sorry for the repeat post from upthread, but wondering if anyone has succeeded in using AirPlay in Music with this beta. I was fine in earlier MacOS versions, but now selecting my WiFi network immediately crashes Music.

I never run beta OS. I was inferring that the poor quality control meant that early versions of macOS are tantamount to being betas, in terms of quality. Back in the old days, a version of OSX could reach more than 10 updates, whereas now we'd be fortunate to get around 6.

It is noted that back in the old days, versions like Snow Leopard were really buggy early on, but only started getting ok around version 6, and reached legendary status right at the end. This means that recent versions of macOS that only had 5 or 6 updates never really reached true rock solid status.

I've been in the public beta program for I think 7 or 8 months now and I have to say that the betas have been very stable for me, but I do not exercise my MBP that much ... everyone has different experiences though ...
