Unfortunately this update killed being about to control a Mac running Tahoe via Remote Desktop. Ugh.

Weird - Softwareupdate is telling me that I am up to date with beta 1. I'm now downloading beta 2 using softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 26.0 on the command line. It's a pretty slow download but hopefully will install OK.

How did you figure that one out? 🥂
I found crash reports in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports and the originated line had

`WebKit::addUserInstalledFontURLs` close tthe crash site. It seemt to be an issue with a not initialized variable (null pointer). The name of the function call led me to figure out that it was probably related to fonts in the user home directory.

Did It work? Did you do a clean instal afterwards or could you just update without losing anything from b1?

Can anyone confirm if macOS Tahoe beta 2 can be booted via an external drive by default, without messing around with Terminal? Thanks.

Apple today provided developers with the second beta of macOS Tahoe 26 for testing purposes, with the update coming two weeks after the first beta was released following WWDC.

Registered developers can download the new beta software through the System Settings app.

macOS Tahoe features Apple's Liquid Glass redesign, which extends across all of the new updates this year. Apple also brought the Phone and Journal apps to the Mac for the first time, and introduced a new cross-platform Games app.

With the update, Apple overhauled how Spotlight works, enabling new functionality that allows it to be used to complete all kinds of actions like sending emails without having to open up an app. There are also changes to a number of apps, including Messages, Safari, and Notes.

All of the new features that are included in macOS Tahoe are outlined in our dedicated roundup.

After installing the second developer update some applications like mail applications (native Mail, Outlook, Spark...) or Deepl (apps that I have issues) crashes and closes.

Nothing showing up for me either from settings.app or on the command line via softwareupdate. Guess I’m stuck on Beta 1!
