Things I'd like to see fixed:

1) Watchdogd kernel panic on reboot, plaguing my M1 MBP, 16 MBP, and 15 MBP.
2) AirPods switching
3) Erasing and clean installing M1 Macs without bricking via Disk Utility.

I was sure M1 Macs wouldn't have that ****ing watchdogd KP, but alas...
Likely something you are running on them. Google drive was guilty of this previously.

macOS 11.1 beta 2 full release notes:

Accessibility

Resolved in macOS Big Sur 11.1 beta 2

  • VoiceOver now supports InfoVox voices from AcapellaGroup. (64880915)

AppKit

Known Issues

  • Certain NSToolbar controls unexpectedly draw a background highlight when you click or roll over them. (71592628)

Mac Catalyst

Known Issues

  • When you present a view controller with page sheet or form sheet presentation style, the size of the view controller’s root view is, by default, determined by the value returned from the presented view controller’s preferredContentSize method and the view is not resizable. You can arrange for the presented view controller to be resizable by using Auto Layout to specify the maximum and minimum sizes of its root view. To enable this, set the canResizeToFitContent property of the application’s main window to YES. One way to do this is to override the or didMoveToWindow() methods of a view in the main view controller. (65254666)For example:- (void)willMoveToWindow UIWindow *)newWindow { [super willMoveToWindow:newWindow]; newWindow.canResizeToFitContent = YES;}

Resolved in macOS Big Sur 11.1 beta 2

  • Full-screen mode in a non-resizable iOS & iPadOS app now works as expected. (71440982)
  • The zoom-to-fit state is now preserved across app launches. (70885745)

Software Update

Resolved in macOS Big Sur 11.1 beta 2

  • Booting back into macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 after installing macOS Big Sur 11.1 beta onto a separate volume on Macs with Apple silicon is now supported. (71353899)
  • Using either macOS Recovery or a bootable installer to reinstall macOS Big Sur 11.1 beta on Macs with Apple silicon is now supported. (71221267)

Snow Leopard was fantastic, but it's so 2009... I am surprised at the number of UI bugs in Big Sur, like the misaligned menu dropdowns and some funny stuff happening with certain desktop backgrounds.
Funny someone else noticed that :) this is something I noticed in the very beginning of Big Sur. But only a few days ago, I figured out what’s causing this issue: If the menu dropdown has at least one menu item with a check mark left of it, the menu dropdown will be misaligned. I e-mailed this Craig Federighi - no response so far. I also hope this will get fixed soon :)

Still tells me theres no update available and ive installed the beta profile three times. Cant update from Beta 1.

late 2013 macbook pro

I sure hope the next release will speed up my Mac Mini again. Big Sur has slowed it to a snail's pace.

I thought that too at first, but:

1) Userland shouldn't cause KPs
2) they are so different, one is used for web + twitter, the other a real dev machine, the other corporate with MS outlook etc.

do they have any 3rd party apps in common? As you get it on all 3 Macs it should be easy to identify the culprit.

Yeah, looks like its the end of an era. Even though each 10.x release was a major update, I personally think they should have called Big Sur macOS 16 since it really is that version. Marketing team likely forgot at the last minute. Out of all of Apples operating system platforms, it really should be carrying the highest version number:

16 - macOS
14 - iOS, iPadOS and tvOS
7 - watchOS
Technically it’s the 17th version of macOS since the first version started at zero with Mac OS X 10.0, so by that logic it should be macOS 17. Or if we want to be really thorough it could be macOS 26 as it’s the 16th update to version 10.0.

Is anyone not seeing the OTA?

Late 2013 on the first 11.1 beta but even tried installing the profile again and it says im on the latest version.
I don't think it's available for 2013/2014 MacBook Pro's due to the reported issues.

Does anyone know who is running this beta, are you able to highlight text in Messages using the shift and arrow keys?

Hopefully this will fix the issue where buttons are a disaster and you can’t see their label. Not sure how this wasn’t caught during beta testing as it was obvious to me from the first 5 minutes after updating to Big Sur...

Hopefully they can find a way to fix the slow as molasses opening of the bookmark menu in Safari. It takes a while before the icons load and it's very annoying.
They should also re-design the hideous Safari icon, looks like a 12 yr old developed it

I'm trying to unenroll from the beta program, unsuccessfully.

I clicked details in software update as the instructions say. I click restore defaults. Still says recent beta available. I have done this twice.

I even re-enrolled in the beta program and turned around and unenrolled....

I love it, it made my iMac late 5K even faster! It had this stutter with Bluetooth and Edge browser! Now completely gone

I probably won't consider Big Sur until at least 11.2 has been release after my experience of "upgrading" to Catalina. Catalina was utterly unstable and had apps hanging constantly, I literally had to hold down the power button as the laptop would just hang completely when shutting down after apps stopped working. It has taken moving to a new laptop to get a stable and working experience!
That’s because you don’t know what you are doing at all!
