You expect a major overhaul of maps on a point-release? Are you new here?

New to Apple rumors? Me? :D

It's been stated in a few articles that, has Apple failed in delivering this feature in time in iOS 8 (due to management problems and whatnot), it could have been delayed in 8.1, 8.2 or 8.3 instead of waiting another whole year for iOS 9.

i get happy and sad when i see a iOS beta update, but then sad when it's under 100mb. :( It's just minor bug fixes. Give me a 500mb+ update and I'll start dancing :D

And your storage will start dancing, too :p

Singapore English Siri support? Stop the presses! Wow.

What about the dozens of other big languages that Apple still refuses to support? While Google supports every language in the world. Very disappointing.

I feel like every update says "fixes for keyboards that may not appear in Safari" but nothing ever changes.

That usually means the issue is a multi-prong bug. In other words, Apple fixed what they think is the cause turns out to be another symptom of an unrelated issue. Basically, Apple's doing a trial and error process, eliminate each bug as it pops up to get to the actual cause.

That also means that Apple rushed this through without doing an extensive QA of the whole custom keyboard lifecycle.

Right now, Apple's focusing on AppleWatch and making sure it goes well. That means the sole focus of iOS 8.2 is WatchKit, nothing else. We saw the same thing with 8.1 and ApplePay.

It is likely 8.3 would be focused on Maps but we won't know until later. Apple did basically tell us what 8.1 and 8.2 was going to be focused on but nothing about Maps or 8.3.

Plans change all the time at Apple and it is very well likely Maps will be delayed to iOS 9 because of the timing. Apple is not going to delay iOS 9, they'll get it out in time for Summer/Fall and they'll intentionally cancel 8.3/Maps just to make sure that happens.

Does anyone else hope that this beta restores the fluidity back into iOS. Like iOS 6 once had. The fact that animations are jerky on the iPhone 6/6+ says a lot.

Absolutely yes! That's what I miss the most about iOS 6! Everything was smooth and the speed seemed a bit quicker to unlock the phone and to launch an app.

i have no issues with animations on my 6. smooth as on my 5 but much faster. you may wanna reinstall your os because it sounds like something is interfering with the ui. is your battery ok or terrible?

use forefox or chrome..

Won't use chrome because I hate it. I shouldn't have to use any other browser. Safari worked great before iOS 8. Now it's buggy as heck. I just want them to make it work right. I don't think its too much to ask given that it's the most used native app in iOS.

The ONLY problem I have is that the mail app badges do not update when I check my mail on my mac until I open the app on my phone. Other than that I have no issues at all with iOS 8 and it runs silky smooth on my 5s still. I can't imagine why people are complaining about how it runs on the iphone 6.

Went from a 6 to a 6 Plus and animations on both have been extremely buttery smooth and have fantastic performance and I have not noticed these issues on both the 6 I came from and now the 6 Plus,

Whats with this terrible thing that people do when one forum user complains on a website on the depths of the internet, compared to the countless millions, somehow magically now every iOS user somehow has this issue?

Explain to me why my iPhone 5 running iOS 6 is way faster than an iPhone 6 plus running 8.1?

number one reason why IOS 8 adoption rates are so high.

And the number two reason is that you can't go back once you realize what POS iOS8 is. :(

iOS8 has caused Airprint issues, Wi-fi issues, and I now find my iPhone 6 on 8.1.1 feels slower than my iPhone 5 did on iOS 7 .

In iOS 8.1.1, from time to time, the keyboard selection reverts back to the standard one in Messages. Anyone else got that?

If it's a widespread bug, can anyone confirm whether it's fixed in 8.2?
It's not a huge deal, but it's annoying nonetheless. Gotta kill Messages, re-open it and re-select SwiftKey. :\

I feel ya.... Don't forget Bluetooth issues. It broke my Bluetooth sync in my truck.

Its not, 6 Plus loads pages alot faster, loads up big applications espcially games 2-3x faster and I also get more frame rate and higher graphical detail in games then you do, it isnt a comparison, 6 Plus and 6 in-app performance blows away the 5

Im enjoying Vainglory which looks just like a legit console quality 360 game on my phone which takes advantage of Metal which is only on 5S/6

I should have been more clear. The 6/6+ is obviously faster, due to the processor. I was referring to fluidity and seconds it takes to open and closes apps. iOS 6 is so fluid and fast, even today. It seems much more smooth than iOS 8 on any device. I compared it to my iPhone 5S running iOS 7.1, and iPad Air 2 running 8.1. Night and day.

Not really and i surely havent noticed that at all, i use reduce motion which imo is alot better then the stock springy animation in ios 7/8.

Apps load up faster on the 6/6 Plus so im not sure what your saying but yes a i5 on iOS 6 Is still very fluid surely in terms of UI and responsiveness

Agree this issue is very annoying.

He's never going to buy a new phone because new phones don't have iOS 6. So he's just going off of anecdotes, not the personal experience of using an iPhone 6 with iOS 8 every day.

Lots of people complaining about bugs. Hopefully iOS 9 will be a "snow leopard" type release. Nothing radical, just some nice new features and a very stable OS.

Wait, you mean an OS upgrade that won't slow down my old and outdated iPhone that I got two years ago to push me to carry a bag full of money to Apple again?

Glassed Silver:mac

thanks for the info. still not clear on when it actually will show up in stores or when apple will put out the app, but it gives me hope.

Yes, I see that bug in 8.1.2. I'm not doing any WatchKit development, so I haven't tried out 8.2 beta yet.

Third party keyboards are the bugliest part of iOS 8. Otherwise, it seems pretty clean to me. I haven't seen any lag on an iPad Air 2 or iPhone 6, and even my iPod Touch 5th gen isn't too bad--though it does lag at times.

I think the bug comes from the keyboards themselves that crash and you're then reverted back to the standard one. But, people will blame Apple anyway...
