I'm surprised that nobody's talking how bad this beta is!
Viber not working on cellular. Speedtest crashing...
Jeez. Apple really needs to get their **** together. I know it's a beta, but, hello, the second one is worse than the first one. Oh dear!

Besides pushing me to buy a more recent device, what can be the technical limitation that Apple sees in not implementing Night Shift for iPad2?
My view is that it is 'just' a change in a color variable setting which is not causing any performance impact.
Is it the metal layer not being ready for iPad2?
Likely not performance related but simply that it uses 64-bit framework/libraries that are not available on 32-bit devices. I don't believe Metal exists for 32-bit devices either.

Perhaps it's not like that for most people or most aren't using those apps?

I am not having an issue with Speedtest - either wi-fi or LTE. 6S+

You don't seem to understand what a beta is. It is not a linear refinement of improvements to the same code. It is an experimentation of different code combinations, the tested results then being evaluated and combined into a finished test build as it approaches final release. Yes, some things get better, but the nature of beta testing is that some things WILL break as different code combinations are tested. Being that this is beta 2 of a pretty major update, no reasonable person would expect that it will be even near perfect at this stage. If you can't deal with that, don't install the betas.

I have night shift set to automatically turn on and off based on the “Sunset to Sunrise” setting. It works on my iPhone 6 but not on my ipad Air 2.

Do you have time zone location setting enabled on both devices?

Argh! I am not touching the phone and now after updating to second beta and full charge the drain seem even worse. Down to 13% after less than 9 hours! It is not my main phone as I use a 6 plus with my US sim card. But this 5s sitting on shelf with four bars cell connectivity has Swedish sim (in US). Battery page says "Usage 6 h 47 m, Standby 8 h 56 m". Usage? By what? I have turned off background updates and BT. Next I will turn off handoff and location services completely. Re location services I know those can be root cause for battery drain and I have turned off almost everything already. (No "purple" arrow seen).

So far it seems the 9.3 beta has crippled my 5s. I'm on low power mode and down to 11% now. Did my batt die on me with this last update?

Any idea where this "Usage" comes from?

Ok, once turning off "Handoff" and "Suggested apps" my battery usage on the 5S is back to "normal". I guess the culprit could be the Handoff service? But I had turned off bluetooth already..

[I have two macs, one ipad and two iphones in my handoff circle. And today I am supposed to get an iPad Pro to this setup - will that mean even more battery drain due to handoff?]

Where to submit bug report being a public beta tester?

Thanks

I would disagree, Garmin devices still can't connect

I don't use any Garmin devices so I wouldn't know that.

My issues were that I couldn't change the Bluetooth source (AirPlay button in the dock) or transfer the call to the handset. Both of those issues are now resolved.

Anyone else having issues asking Siri to "text so-and-so" after the update? This is both on Wifi and cellular. It seems other functionality isn't affected.

Not I. iPhone 6s/128. All my apps seem functional and the phone seems to be stable so far, but I'm just several hours into the update.

It makes absolutely no sense to have a control center toggle for a function whose tent pole feature is that it turns itself on and off automatically.

It makes total sense, you just haven't thought of these use cases.

For instance, imagine this: you're in bed surfing the web, using Night Shift. And you come across a news article with a photo where it's important to see the colors properly. You can quickly toggle Night Shift off to see it, then toggle it back on.
