It makes absolutely no sense to have a control center toggle for a function whose tent pole feature is that it turns itself on and off automatically. I sure hope iOS 10 brings us some ability to customize the UI because Apple's sensibilities are increasingly different from my own. Not sure where I would go if I ditched iOS, but I'm activity looking at alternatives for the first time since the original iPhone came out.

Anyone else having issues asking Siri to "text so-and-so" after the update? This is both on Wifi and cellular. It seems other functionality isn't affected.

I would like...no....I would LOVE to see Apple give us an App very similar to Motorola's Smart Actions app....I am guilty of grabbing for my phone when it rings or I receive a text message while driving.....When I had a Motorola Droid Max, with Smart Actions, I was able to have my cell phone go into Quiet Mode while I was driving, automatically...I didn't have to do a thing....and once I got home, it woke up all on its own......Now that would be an app that would actually save some lives.....

9.3 Beta 1 was draining the battery of my 5S three times faster than on 9.2. Even after I tried turning off "everything" like any background services, bluetooth etc. I am currently roaming (not data) and wonder if it is related. I really hope it is better in this new beta...

I was losing around 60% in 4 hours. I thought it might be Facebook.app though as that had the biggest drain on my battery when I wasn't using the phone (at work, phone in pocket) but usage was crazy high.

Hopefully some other background issues I've seen in the first 9.3 beta are resolved. updating now.

I'd like landscape lock screen please. It's not that important but There are users who use landscape mode a lot but the lock screen does not tilt accordingly like app screens.

updated from beta 1 to beta2 and now get an error that my phone can't connect to a cellular network or cellular data. tried wiping networks settings but to no success.

I wonder if the makers of f.lux could recompense something from Apple, especially how Apple seem to have just copied the f.lux function.
Apple implemented similar functionality, just like apple did with a calculator app that many other OS and app developers had long ago, or just like Apple did with a text editor app that Microsoft also has and many other developers have created. In any case, all of this has already been covered in threads like https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...e-to-allow-f-lux-app-for-ios-devices.1950562/

I'm interested to hear how this is going just because I've had this issue since 9.1 and an Apple swap out of the phone. Debating on doing the betas since this won't won't come out till the iPhone 6 mini.

Argh! I am not touching the phone and now after updating to second beta and full charge the drain seem even worse. Down to 13% after less than 9 hours! It is not my main phone as I use a 6 plus with my US sim card. But this 5s sitting on shelf with four bars cell connectivity has Swedish sim (in US). Battery page says "Usage 6 h 47 m, Standby 8 h 56 m". Usage? By what? I have turned off background updates and BT. Next I will turn off handoff and location services completely. Re location services I know those can be root cause for battery drain and I have turned off almost everything already. (No "purple" arrow seen).

So far it seems the 9.3 beta has crippled my 5s. I'm on low power mode and down to 11% now. Did my batt die on me with this last update?

Any idea where this "Usage" comes from?

Now why would Apple allow you to password protect Notes and not an app like Contacts?
in that case might aswell put passwords accessing texts (access to contacts), safari (with passwords), photos (access to personal photos).

what about apps like uber? facebook?

forget about your contacts... if you wanna be annoying, go all out

Besides pushing me to buy a more recent device, what can be the technical limitation that Apple sees in not implementing Night Shift for iPad2?
My view is that it is 'just' a change in a color variable setting which is not causing any performance impact.
Is it the metal layer not being ready for iPad2?

Obviously Apples implementation is so much different since it is only compiled for their 64 bit systems. (Not really)
