Apple today seeded the second beta of the upcoming macOS Sierra update 10.12.2 to developers, one week after releasing the first 10.12.2 beta and two weeks after the public release of macOS 10.12.1.

macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta 2 is available for download through the Apple Developer Center and through the software update mechanism in the Mac App Store. A public beta will likely be available for public beta testers later this week.

macOS Sierra 10.12.2 includes new emoji introducing Unicode 9 characters like clown face, drooling face, selfie, face palm, fox face, owl, shark, butterfly, avocado, pancakes, croissant, and more, plus many profession emoji available in both male and female genders.

Apple has also updated the artwork on many existing emoji, adding detail and making them look less cartoonish and more realistic.

The update will also focus on bug fixes and performance enhancements to address issues that have popped up since the release of macOS Sierra 10.12.1.

Available since September, macOS Sierra is the latest Mac operating system. It includes Siri support, Apple Pay for the web, Universal Clipboard, Apple Watch auto unlocking, improved iCloud Drive integration, Picture-in-Picture multitasking, and dozens of smaller features that can be found in our macOS Sierra roundup.

Wow, by the number of posts here, you can see the enthusiasm for more emojis!

Here
Maybe this will fix the issue where I can't even access my school gmail via the Mail app.

This round of updates broke my Logitech wireless back button. I found an update on their site saying they are aware and working on a fix but otherwise no issues so far.

Really hoping they fix the issues with annotations in Preview. Impossible to use Preview for taking notes in class or at home... which is my main way of studying!

Hope that whatever issues they're working on get resolved.

iOS and OSX updates - emojis, emojis, emojis,
That is apple's priorities, priorities, priorities,

MBP update - emoji bar,
Can't wait for iphone hardware change to include more emojis!
Plenty of other things in those updates. People just choose to focus on the single smaller emoji updates and overlook everything else.

Emojis? Fine, but I'm not sure when to use them. What's wrong with smileys? Guess I'm too old fts.

I'm still waiting for Finder to actually merge folders, if that's what I want, and not delete destination folder's previous contents - sometimes.

I see little use for a "common user" such as myself to install betas these days. Well, I do install them...but it was ages ago that a beta or "preview" actually was exciting to install.

With that being said I'm happy as long as Apple updates don't kill off my hackintosh, "real apples" are too expensive here in Scandinavia :-/

It shouldn't even get a mention from anyone including the media report as far as I'm concerned.

I just hope that they fix the bug that has me disconnect and reconnect my thunderbolt display every time it has gone to sleep. I (and many others, apparently) have had that problem ever since I installed MacOS Sierra.

I wish they'd release the TV app for the Mac with this update like they are for all of the other devices. I'd be much more inclined to watch shows on my Mac than on my iPhone.

"Apple has also updated the artwork on many existing emoji, adding detail and making them look less cartoonish and more realistic."

And yet all the MacOS icons have been flattened with less detail --and the UI. Skeuomorphism died several iterations ago ...you're so inconsistent, Apple.

Update: Sierra needs at least 16 GB ram. Have you found the Easter egg yet in Sierra? I was told it's a QuickTime movie seeing Timmy counting beans.
