Is this an ongoing joke? "dictation support for Shanghainese, cricket scores"

If not, the bottom of the barrel has officially been reached.

This is a very foolish comment. Dictation support for additional languages is a boon to many. Cricket is widely followed around the world, and huge in India.

LOL. With all the bitching about yellow iphone and mac screens over the years, only apple comes out with a feature to replicate it. How about a feature to make the screens more white?

It's your eye that are filing you. My MacBook Pro 2016 are having 100% White according to my colorimeter and CalMan.

This stupid Beta 2 like 1 has ruined opening videos in vlc and other players it now takes ages saying verifying, i was praying beta 2 fixed it but it has made it worse
I solved this (well, worked around it more like) by setting the default app back to Quicktime and then doing a right-click open-with VLC when I want to play a video. They open immediately now.

I believe it's something to do with gatekeeper.

Is someone using APFS on the beta? I'm wondering if it survives an update..

Not sure if much could be gained having Night Shift Mode on a 11" or 13" display. Perhaps on an iMac yes where there is an increased possibility of eye strain due to the size of the display.
It's not really about the eye strain but the light that is emitted.

Touch Bar support for Mac App Store... Is this new? The mail syncing bug seems to be fixed though....
Yup I have that too in Beta 2. Definitely not visible prior to that.

I read about APFS i the iOS beta. Wonder if there is anything new in macOS regarding that.

They did work, until an hour or so ago ... I used cookies to delete all cookies, apart from some webpages I define, each time I exit Safari. I used safari stand just to increase the size of the address bar and put favicons on my tabs.

Not too bothered about stand but I'll miss cookies. The coloured finder sidebar is nice (and still works) but if that eventually dies too it's ok.

Got SIMBL working, but not SafariStand (yet).

I've converted a partition to it, running my home dir off it. It's a huge improvement.

Speed improvement?
Hope the Bootable APFS will arrive soon.

My iPhone with iOS/APFS got quite a bit faster and I expect this to be true for MacOs as well.
Yes, speed, and space. File moving/copying is near instant. Regretfully i didn't do a before/after check for the exact difference, but i'm pretty sure i gained ~100GB empty space on a 500GB partition.

Oh. Nice. ~~So, it still can't be used as a boot partition?~~

Edit: I realised that I was confusing this with the next (to be released) macOS version. Ignore my question. I'm fairly certain they won't do that major a change in a minor version update.

They've announced they'd do the conversion in 2017, and they announced they'd convert it in-place... i think they'll do it in MacOS11. I'm very impressed by what it's capable off and think the limitations (like not being able to boot) are made intentionally.

Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming macOS Sierra 10.12.4 update to developers, two weeks after seeding the first macOS Sierra 10.12.4 beta and just over a two weeks after releasing macOS Sierra 10.12.3.

The second macOS Sierra 10.12.4 beta is available for download through the Apple Developer Center or the software update mechanism in the Mac App Store for those who have previously installed a beta.

macOS Sierra 10.12.4 brings iOS's Night Shift mode to the Mac for the first time. First introduced with iOS 9.3, Night Shift is designed to gradually shift the display of a device from blue to yellow, cutting down on exposure to blue light. Blue light is said to disrupt the circadian rhythm and is believed to interrupt sleeping patterns.

Night Shift can be activated through the Displays section of System Preferences, where a setting to have it come on at sunset and turn off at sunrise is available. Night Shift can also be toggled on manually through the Notification Center or via Siri.

The 10.12.4 update focuses mainly on Night Shift, but also includes dictation support for Shanghainese, cricket scores for Siri, and improved PDFKit APIs. Today's beta adds an opt-in option for iCloud Analytics that pops up after installing the update.

[doublepost=1486608866][/doublepost]A new update. Great. Two questions. How fast can you get it to me and will it speed up Sierra as I have tried everything and my mac is still slower than my sex life.

To compare, the disk speeds on the new MacBook pros might match the speeds of your sex life. The whole operating system, never. :p

Exactly this! I've been having this problem since 10.12.0 and it's still not fixed. I thought I must have been the only person with this problem!

You mean, like this. ;)

Obviously the two are related... my advice: stop looking for the next best (beta) thing and improve your skills with what you have ;-)

Also, speed is not what will improve your sexlife.
