New change I've noticed is that Finder's coverflow view now has a useful scrubber under the big icons.

No, but Windows has a legitimate problem to deal with regarding the multitude of combinations of parts (e.g. motherboards, CPUs, memory, GPUs, NICs, etc.) it must support so I would expect bugs in Windows more than in Macs. Windows is far from bug free, I prefer OSX, but I find the lack of quality control a little disconcerting as of late.
Except for the fact that OS X and iOS have to support just as much bluetooth, wifi and other networking devices as their Windows counterparts. And except for the fact that Microsoft and the OEMs work together to have the hardware that OEMs use fully supported by Microsoft. Take a good look at Microsofts driver program for example.

Both OS X, iOS and their Windows counterparts have a legitimate problem to deal with, especially when it comes to any wireless technology. Wireless has way too many factors to deal with in the first place (interference from just about any electronics device, our atmosphere, overcrowding (especially on 2.4GHz) and so on). Wireless is just a major pita. Thinking that other operating systems do a better job or don't have these problems is very unrealistic and naive. It is far more realistic to expect a list of bugs with any software, no matter the manufacturer.

Hoping for TWO things fixed:

1) Log in screen shown on the correct display using TWO monitors

2) Safari "lag" when typing and general navigating

:)

I thought I was the only having issues with dual monitors. A tear almost came to my eye

Some weeks ago I posted about huge fps drops on Yosemite when playing Blizzard games (World of Warcraft, DIII, etc.). Some comments said, it's an issue on Blizzard's side, but finally I changed back to Mavericks via Time Machine and the problems are gone.
So will :apple: fix/accept that GPU problem on Yosemite or not?

Another one who doesn't get it, it's no Apple's fault, Blizzard Games should update their games so it does run on a "new" OS.

Apple Seeds Second OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite Beta to Developers

I haven't been able to do a Time Machine backup for the last two weeks because of a major bug in Yosemite!!! I keep getting file errors on every backup. I have tried several external USB drives and have the same issue.

I also have had MS Office 2011 crashing on a regular basis and have seen the same issues from other folks on the Mac forums.

There has been numerous complaints about these issues and I am hoping they have a fix in the next major OS update.

PS: never had any of these issues when running Mavericks, only when I updated to Yosemite. Not a happy camper at the moment.

No, but recently it has had fewer bugs than OSX.

Maybe fewer bugs in Windows. God knows they've had enough years to copy the Mac by now to figure it out.

But I still don't know any Mac users who've gotten a virus, but can name 3 Windows friends who did in the last 6 months!

Some things never change.

Yeah totally I'm using it fine, it's all the seed configuration utility does, it can easily be removed under AppStore in preferences :)

I simply don't understand why the Feedback Assistant program disables my NetGear router. I've called Comcast multiple times. It's not a cabling issue or a modem issue and it only happens when Feedback Assistant is collecting data. It makes no sense to me. No other program does this to my router. And nothing like this has ever happened ever from the Leopards to Mavericks, so how can I not blame Apple for it?

Viruses or malware?

I do sincerely hope they fix the FileVault "Encryption Paused" freezing within this update ? It's been an issue quite a while, my MBA is stuck on that state for days now and consumes the juice rapidly when not on the power outlet.

The Feedback Assistant problem can't possibly be a virus or malware.

What? You said your friends got viruses. I asked if they were really viruses.

The netgear thing is just horrible, makes it to where I'm glad that my sister doesn't use be feedback assistant.

Had no problems been solid so far for me!

i dont know about any of these bugs not had any issues with any of them listed! i must be one of the lucky ones! so far yosemite has been solid for me and is a lot better than mavericks.

Any fixes for dual monitor setups?

Completely randomly, the primary screen can be either, as well as just plain old black, rather than have the desktop image. Typically the secondary screen will have the desktop, the primary one will be black.

Also randomly upon wake from sleep, there can be an odd flickering sequence, where one screen will come on, then go off, the other comes on, goes off, then they both come on?

Despite there not being any change in hardware setup. '12 core i7 mac mini with dual displays.

Even worse, and this drives me up the wall every time I wake up my computer: Yosemite resizes and repositions EVERY app window on the main screen?!

I have a 24" landscape 1920x1200 as primary
and a 19" portrait 1440x900 as secondary (90deg rotation in display settings)

Upon wake from sleep, every window on the primary screen is narrowed to 900px wide and pushed down by about 240 px as to bottom align with the bottom of the secondary screen ?! ?! ?!

So after every sleep I'm resizing and repositioning at least half a dozen windows :'(

Then despite being in extended display mode, I can never resize windows if there's supposed to be overlap, like when you push a window from the main screen to the secondary ... it will show an outline briefly, but then the rest just vanishes. So there's no resize handle. I need to resize any window to like 800x600 on the main screen, then push it over to the secondary, and then enlarge it as needed.

Before windows would just liberally occupy the space and you could grab the handle on any screen it displayed on and resize at will.

Misunderstood me. Friends on Windows got viruses. I can't remember getting one since Mac OS 9.1.

Yes, and I'm doubting that your friend got viruses and that he really got malware. There is a difference. If they actually got viruses, they're doing something wrong.

The average Windows user does not know the difference.

My point still stands. I've seen few if instances of this on the Mac platform.

Is it ready yet / worth the risk?

I'm still on 10.9.5. I have a practice of waiting for the x.1 release anyway, so I waited for 10.10.1. In this case it seems that was not enough.
For the desktop machine in question (imac 27, quad i7, ssd), I am hardwired direct to the router, so I don't normally need wifi; and I don't use dual monitors. So perhaps I'm not exposed to the remaining issues. But for those of you using Yosemite, it is ready to use/and are there enough new features to make it worth the trip?
Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks for any feedback.

There is only one issue specifically for you that could be a problem.
That would be the Bluetooth Death thing when plugging an iPhone.
I've tested multiple cables even Apple's own and this has happened.

iPhone connection sometimes kills bluetooth mouse/keyboard, forcing a reboot.

Just don't use Feedback Assistant. I will disable your router. :(

Anyone know if this fixes the Bluetooth issues that have been going on since Yosemite first came out? Bluetooth audio has been a nightmare.
