I still have unexplained recurrent BT drop outs and I think Apple has lost interest in any BT issues.

Apple Seeds Second OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite Beta to Developers

I know it's a 3rd Party issue, but currently Bartender is totally hosed with this beta.

This update NEEDS to have a fix for the WiFi issue in Yosemite. If not, I'm reverting back to Mavericks.

It's completely and utterly unacceptable to procrastinate this issue for so long. Shame on you, Apple. We need WiFi. Ignoring problems won't get them resolved.

The latest build also highlights WiFi and Screen Sharing as focus areas for testing improvements according to 9to5Mac.

I find it strange that some seem to have wifi issues and some don't. I haven't seen wifi issues at all in Yosemite. :-| What is different for me compared to you? I have a MacBook Pro 13" (Mid 2012) and it's been working fine with wifi. Also have a MacBook Pro 15" (Late 2011 I think) and that also works fine with wifi.

It reminds me about how there were at least five firmware updates for the Surface Pro 3 and WiFi. I never had a single issue with it, though.

Haha, most builds did, Yosemite had no issues for me before it came out, it started soon after initial release.
Actually, I never had one single WIFI issue with OS X from 10.0b until 10.9.X

Bout time. iOS/Yosemite...Apple software on a whole, are a mess. Not to mention their recent push for "disposable computers" w/ no user upgradeability unless it comes in the form of a Mac Pro.

The point is to make the owner bring it into apple for service an ben charged a ton of cash.

Which is likely because of mDNSresponder being replaced with the brand new discoveryd later in Yosemite's development. mDNSresponder hasn't changed much between 10.2 and 10.9.x.

It doesn't look like Apple has improved discoveryd much in later 10.10.x builds, which is sad.

It's been eight months since the first release and they still have interface bugs...incredible effort

Well damm, I've done some reading and disabled that, I had no idea it could leave my system unbootable if I reset PRAM!

Fairly easy to fix if you know how, it's in my link in one of my posts.

Very interesting article, but I don't know how universally valid it is.

Are you using trim enabler under Yosemite and it works ???
Am I missing something ?

It does work, but it is not recommended, I guess you've read all the posts here in this thread, a PRAM reset for instance will get you into trouble, just not worth it.

I didn't use TrimEnabler since I had issues with it last time, it also seems it isn't that important anymore.

There is still a huge thread on Cindori:

Trim Enabler in Yosemite

Still has issues, resetting PRAM will leave you with a system you can't boot into.

So you basically are not using trim capabilities on your SSD, only relying on internal garbage collection?

Photos has made a few changes in how the Face Recognition works. Less steps (row under faces of available faces to assign). The verbiage when you add a face that tells you how many photos were automatically added has been removed too (not sure if that feature changed).

It's sad for all aperture users that apple decided to leave to die aperture. :(
One of the best programs form dies for an like iOS Photos program

Don't worry.

It'll be back, in the form of Aperture X.

Apple's got its hands full at the moment*, so a temporary discontinuation of Aperture was necessary.

*In both the hardware and software front.
**Hardware: Retina MBA 12" (which is behind schedule, due last year, due to Broadwell), redesigned MBP 15" (meant to be due this year, but may be pushed to late 2015/early 2016), Apple Watch, new Apple TV.
**Software: OS XI (due to happen in 2015/16. Yosemite was just a stopgap. OS XI will introduce significant new technologies, such as a new file system.).

Be patient.

Yes.I decided not to reenable it, don't have problems, but I also have a Samsung Pro SSD which seems to be a better SSD.

There won't be a OS XI, not for several years if ever.

I logged in to report the same thing: but I think it may be related to the menu bar functionality. As has been reported on this forum, in previous builds, switching between screens with "displays have separate spaces" enabled would create a significant and annoying pause while the focus changed from a window on one screen to the window which had been switched to on the other screen, along with flickering menu bar items, particularly where the dark mode menu bar was being used. The Bartender dev referred to this problem in one of his patch notes, so I think this confirms that the menu bar code has been modified in some way.

Ive not had trim enabled on my evo 840 for about a year now. I would like to think the internal garbage collection is doing its job.

So where's the public beta for this one? My MacBook is ready
Does anybody on the public beta program got the update?

Public Beta won't be until the developers get to beta 3/4

So they are just giving up on fixing wifi now? Im praying that MS finally fixes the awful trackpads on PC laptops with Windows 10 so I can finally switch and not have to worry about broken OSX releases.

A lot of people say that 10.10.3 has fixed wifi for them. Some say otherwise. Thankfully, my MacBook Air hasn't had the issue.

You think Windows is has less bugs?!?!?!?!

They fix only the bugs in this long list.

The problem is, people will bitch and moan on here, but most won't actually report the issue to Apple. Then wonder why they are ignored.........

We at Apple just don't give a ***** about anyone who can you use more than 5 brain cells at a time, and we're on track to dumbify every single piece of hardware/software in the near future. Soon we will achieve our goal: All hardware to receive on/off button only (it will still look cool) and all software to be supplied only with open/exit command (we'll do the rest for you automatically). Don't worry, our dumb Apple users, the future is stupid-proof and quite friendly.
Thank you,
Smarter-than-you Apple team.

Amazing that the company still exists, right?

Just get ready for patch tuesday then :)

As flawed as it is I would rather deal with Patch Tuesday than with a new, flawed OS every year where for the first six months or so Apple slowly attempts to fix things that used to work under the previous version.

At the same time users are trying to remember how to do the simple tasks that they once had mastered. The story is getting so old now that I can see why some users just keep running Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion.

Every time an update is announced the Barbarian Hordes descend to complain about their favorite bug (real or mostly imagined). And of course until this favorite bug is fixed their computer is totally useless, unable to perform any work. How they keep their jobs without the use of the now useless machine is anyone’s guess. The “Society For The Perpetually Dissatisfied” meets every Tuesday at the local Denny’s...unless someone declared it a useless meeting.

Indeed. Shocking that Apple dropped Aperture, since it was a sinking ship, losing the battle to Lightroom, instead of keeping it going, obviously at a loss, to the small percentage of Mac users that still use it...

OSX is nowhere near as bad as Windows when it comes to bugs. I had a relatively new motherboard for a custom built PC, that Windows refused to acknowledge the existence of an onboard Ethernet port. To the point where the company that manufactured the motherboard issued a free separate PCI Ethernet card. Now that's an extreme case, but you get my point. Both OS's have issues, but the Mac has less. Just look at Windows Vista.
