Thanks for that....as to the maths.....only justFYI, the first public beta was released right after the second developer beta. I hope that you can handle the rest of the math.

Is high sierra going to support hardware decoding of HEVC/VP9 playback?
Can't access Applications folder - forces restart.
iMac 27” Late 2013, I'm running build (17A344b), which I believe it probably the 6th beta. Since the 1st beta, I couldn't access my Applications folder. Whether it's going in through Finder or right clicking at a Dock's icon, the computer restarts automatically.
It's a big issue whenever I want to go in the Contents of an Applications (for example to install Photoshop plugins manually).
Any solutions?
You're right!FYI, the first public beta was released right after the second developer beta. I hope that you can handle the rest of the math.
It's pretty stable now, but if it you are using it for work the best advice is to wait for the official release as occasionally there are reversions even in late betas. I wouldn't be surprised if the next beta is a "release candidate" but even then there may be another build before actual release.I'm thinking of taking the plunge on my main work Mac to the public beta.
Are there any notes on known problems anywhere?
I would appreciate any genuine feedback responses. My main work usage revolves around using Google Drive and Chrome and wireless printing and scanning.

With the the latest hardware, yes, as in 2017 MBP’s, MacBooks and iMacs. Earlier models will use software decoding. This was explained during the keynote.
Screenshot belowUpdated my 2011 MBP to Public Beta 17A352a.
No issues during installation, although it restarted a couple of times, felt like installing Windows.
I was able to "sudo trimforce enable" just fine (WD Green SSD).

I'm guessing you have tried to check for errors (first aid) with Disk Utility?
I'm getting this only now for the first time after attempting to do a fresh install of the latest beta on a Mid 2010 13" MBP (MacBookPro7,1)Still getting 'Error Verifying Firmware' whilst trying to install

Any help please?
FWIW: Turns out I finally got it to work here. For all I can tell, the culprit appears to have been the USB hub I had left connected (with USB speakers + Powermate attached).Still getting 'Error Verifying Firmware' whilst trying to install

sudo trimforce enable WORKS!!!
If you have a third party SSD you can enable TRIM support for it by opening Terminal and executing the command I just wrote. What is this? An application in Launchpad that I don't see? I don't see anything in the Apple Mac store either.
