How does this compare to iOS 18 public release on stability, performance and battery? Thinking of making the jump now we’ve had 2 ‘a’ beta releases
For sure it can vary between several devices and usecases but for me on my 15 Pro it’s great.

Is it just me, or have they genuinely eliminated the annoying notifications whenever Shortcuts are running in this beta version? Please keep it like this!!!

Does 8.1 offer anything of interest other than AI?
If you’re really into printing, then it’ll show you your printing progress on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. I haven’t really found anything else on my 14 Pro that might be interesting.

I assume we are not going to get anymore 18.0 bug fixes and we will jump into 18.1 and accumulate more?
18.0.1 had bug fixes that I believe were integrated into last weeks beta. Someone correct me if I’m wrong though.

Im really hoping the networking issue is resolved. Seems Wifi or Cellular is inconsistent at times. Notice it a lot with App Store results are very much delayed when searching for specific apps or just getting blank screens. I also have a non beta iOS 18 iPhone 14 PM that is not experiencing this issue. Only appears on 18.1 dev beta on an iPhone 15 PM.
I noticed some network issues with the last beta version as well. Just downloaded and running the 7th now. Keyboard seems better.

Wonder if MS Teams is still a complete mess with this beta. Only fix is to completely disable Apple Intelligence (not just the app) and it still can bug out after a couple days.

WatchOS 11 (non-beta) is also a mess. Outlook Calendar is using black text now if any watch face is set to colorful. If you switch to a rainbow background or pick a single color the text shows up fine otherwise you just get black on black.

Hope Apple improves battery performance the close to public release. Since moving to 18.1 betas, I’ve been barely able to make it through a day of work (6-8 hrs active screen time)
Same here. I've barely been getting 5-6 before hitting 20%. It seems to drain juice when it's off!

Sure, its not like the marketing by cell carriers and Apple that AI is the only attraction that 18.1 brings.

All right, I’m trying to research this. I’ve noticed twice when I’ve gone quickly through the Photos app that a little HD logo comes up that could be toggled on and off. But not every time I open up does it come up? Is this a bug?

My Oticon hearing aids have been working fine in 18.1 on the Public Beta channel.

Meant for the Air Pods Pro 2 ... (my original post now updated to reflect this).

Am glad 18.1 is working well for your traditional aid ... my 92yo mom is about to replace her 7yo ReSound (has MFi 1, with simplex streaming) with a BICROS, and is very much looking forward to the upgrade to duplex streaming.

Teams has been fine for me on my phone and iPad. Use it both places quite regularly. AI is enabled.
