Hello all

I've installed the public beta 6 on my iPhone SE

Seems smooth but from time to time, screen goes black ( when doing nothing on the Phone ) and can't get it to wake up :) I need to reset the iPhone by pressing the powerbutton and home button untill the apple logo appears.

Anyone who has the same ?

After 48 hours, so far so good. Geek Bench 4 scores and battery discharge rates similar under this beta to iOS 10.3.3. Minimal glitches, at least in the first two days.

I know some of you are having problems and hope they get worked out in the next beta.

Is that new Maps icon a reference to the new Apple Campus? I see a circle.

Why would they put it there, it didn't bother anyone where it was.
It bothered APPLE because most people now won't be able to find it and thus won't have their screens on full brightness all the time and the battery will seem to last longer

So when iOS 11 release, Twitter, and Facebook will make something Good and Create Share button become a unique right? Just like on Android?
Who knows if they will do anything unique. The share buttons already include them now tho so nothing lost really.

It was every app. What I did learn is that photo was “restoring” 18,000 pics I have on the device which was dragging down the performance to a dead stop. Now that it is finished, which took almost of an hour, this beta seems to be working ok.
Not sure how you quoted me. That was not a statement I made :)

This is somewhat related, so I am quoting... I just realized there is a brand new setting called "Reduce White Point" under Display Accommodations. NOW I know why the screen looked so dim even in full brightness. Turned it off and voila, I can see under direct sunlight now!

I missed this. Thanks for sharing!
BTW reduce white point is not a new setting. Been around since iOS 7 when things went really white.

Hey I just noticed something. In Settings/General/Accessibility, turning on Button Shapes does not show the gray background behind buttons any more. Now, it just underlines the buttons, making them look more like links. Not sure if it's new in this specific beta..

iOS 10.3.3 was draining my phone like a leaky faucet and turning it hot enough to cook eggs so I took the jump on iOS 11 PB 5. I've encountered an interesting issue though and I am wondering if it is a bug or a feature, and if anyone else has experienced it. When I get Message notifications (iMessage or text message only) the notification briefly pops up on my lock screen and then almost immediately disappears. In some cases, the notification does not appear at all.

Has anyone else expereinced this and is it related to some new toggle in settings that I need to flip?

Indeed, it was supposed to be someoneoutthere’s post 216. No idea how that occurred. Anyway it should be fixed. Sorry about that.:)

Hm. If I go to iCloud-->Backup, it's showing messages saved, and the last upload date is today. Anyone else seeing this? I can see per-contact when the messages were sync'd.

A good test would be to check on the Mac's iMessge and see if all the same messages are there. Start a new Text on the Mac for iMessage and see if it immediately shows up on the iPhone/Ipd with iOS11 Beta. And vice versa.

This is your device backup which includes iMessage data. iCloud Messages Sync is a new feature that syncs your messages to iCloud and across your devices.

On iOS 10 I don't see no such option for iMessage in settings or in iCloud or in iCloud backup to be listed nor even enabled/disabled. So how specific is this on iOS 11?

Good Morning - one question: on my ipad is beta 4 installed, beta 5 is showing up Softwareupdate. I really would like to install beta 6 as it should be much more stable and smoother then beta 5 (as i can read here).

Now my point - do i have to install beta 5 first before i can install beta 6?

Many Thanks!

Forgive me if you know this already, but just in case:

public beta 5 is identical to developer beta 6, which is the latest beta. All of the discussion in this thread is about this beta version.

So if you are a public beta tester like me, then beta 5 is the latest beta available to us, so go ahead and install it on your iPad. I installed it on mine the other day and it's been working pretty well for me.

Good luck!

I am very confused as everyone is saying this is really smooth and we’re getting close.

I updated the other day and I wish I had not. My apps are crashing constantly and sometimes I have to force restart to get the phone working again.

This is the version I am running... 11:0 (15A5354b) I believe this is the latest?

Is anyone else experiencing what I am? Is there anything I can do...

I wish my iPhone was running as smooth as others are reporting. :-(

Thanks rob.

It's luck of the draw. If the beta is not working fine for you, I guess the only thing you can do is downgrade to ios 10 and maybe try installing again and hope for a different (and better) result.
