Many, MANY threads in this, and running betas as "daily drivers". Search is your friend!

As a note, daily device + betas, No No

it really depends on your level of tolerance to bugs... I always install the beta on my daily driver. (iPhone 7)... but I also keep an old iPhone or Android device as a backup just in case I have big problems with the beta.

When I unlock, my display is blurred out. You can see the time is back there but it's covered by an empty notifications screen with no notifications.

Yes but those threads do not pertain to this version, now do they?
I have several iPhones and already have a prior version of this beta on one of them and on an iPad, just wanted some feedback about showstoppers on this newly released iteration of 11. But I understand, people like to lecture like they are my dad and I'm 7 years old ;-)

Based upon my specific usage today, yes.

Thanks for the straight answer ;-)

iPhone 6, stuck on this screen. tried both soft and hard resets, both times it comes back up with this screen when powering back on. Anyone else had/having this issue?

My wife’s phone is also. It did this last night and haven’t had time to try anything with it yet.

Is this thing ok now for daily driver? Any show stoppers for daily usage?
(and no, I do not need to be warned about risking my data on a beta...)
You have a lot of replies. I've been using the public beta since PB3 on my daily driver 7 Plus, and it's been working well. Others, however, not so much. Make an archived backup in case things go bad. YMMV.

For what it’s worth, here’s my experience so far:

Installed 24 hours ago on iPad Pro 10.5, which was previously running iOS 10.3.3. So far, so good considering this is a beta.

Geek Bench 4 scores are comparable to under iOS 10.3.3.

The rate of battery discharge seems no faster than under iOS 10.3.3.

All the apps I’ve tried, including stock apps and 3rd party apps, work perfectly or very tolerably well considering this is beta software of a significant new iOS version.

I’ve had only two problems so far, and they’re minor.

1. While using Safari with 2 dozen tabs open, the iPad slowed down to a crawl then froze. It was entirely unresponsive for a few minutes, then I was able to do a hard reboot and all was fine. This has happened only once in 24 hours.

2. When I first connected my Apple Smart Keyboard, it wouldn’t work. The iPad recognized that it was connected because the on-screen keyboard went away. But the physical keyboard wouldn’t work. I tried a hard reboot and then the Smart Keyboard worked just fine.

I was mentally prepared for and willing to accept more glitches. And it’s only been a day; I will probably have some more glitches in the coming days.

But, so far so good. Meanwhile, I’m enjoying the new iOS 11 features.

YMMV.

Good luck!

I've got an iPhone 7 and having a similar problem - I actually came here to see if anyone was experiencing it. It was stuck on it this morning when I went to check for the update, and 5 hours later it still looks like this, even after rebooting.

While PB 4 had some issues, it was fairly stable. This version released today renders safari practically unusable with even the simplest of sites causing reloading and crashing forcing my ipad pro 9.7 to lockup for a few seconds before going back to the home screen. Multiple apple and 3rd party apps either crash or will not launch after a few minutes. I have reset and rebooted and even restored back to 10.3.3 and then reapplied this latest beta with the same result. Even had feedback assistant begin to lag as I was typing and finally crash on me twice as I was trying to file a bug report on this which on the 3rd try was successful.

my battery life is TERRIBLE on DB6. full charge to empty by 4pm with only light use iPhone 7plus. Way worse than the last beta

I am on PB5, for me (6S+), it's much smoother than PB4. Battery life is on par with iOS 10. No complaints. Smooth as butter on my iPad Pro 9.7" as well. All devices daily drivers; including the MBP, which is also on the latest beta - much better experience - I haven't had any issues yet.

I have not seen them pop up yet. They might have intentionally restricted access to them.

Interesting. Safari works just fine for me, no issues or whatsoever. Could you list some of the apps that you are having issues with? I'd love to give some feedback. Thanks!

My 9.7" iPad Pro froze once, different situation though. I was trying to force quit few applications, it became unresponsive and I had to hard reboot the device.

Ok. Is anyone else still unable to access their forward facing camera or flash? I have had issues accessing in earlier betas. But now it never works.

It works just fine for me (6S+ and 9.7" iPad Pro)

How the battery life on iPhone 6s Plus. Anyone can advise.

On par with iOS 10 for me. Your mileage may vary.

I understand what the word means. I just think it's odd to have a sub-menu with four settings and a "Oui/On", "Non/Off" label that represents whether any of three of the four settings is turned on. The other sub-menus with a similar label have a master toggle, possibly with some settings to fine-tune.

If I had to guess, they're being paternalistic and trying to hide the "Auto Brightness"/"Réglage Automatique" because we're "using it wrong." (I find the Auto Brightness typically sets the screen a bit dimmer than I prefer, so I keep it off most of the time.)
It does not work like the rest of the options in that menu. Any that turn on change the main toggle to "on" but that one does not, like it does not belong to that group. On auto brightness, you have to calibrate it to your preference. Switch it on and go to dark room and let it adjust then move the slider where you want it for that environment. Then do same in bright room. It should adjust to your prefs going forward.

Why not put in on one of those that already have an prior version to test instead of your daily? Just wondering. But so far no showstoppers that I have seen on iP6s with b6.

These are gone for good. https://www.macrumors.com/2017/06/05/facebook-twitter-integration-eliminated-ios-11/ one place to read. Lots of other sites mention it as well like Axios.

I don’t see an option to disable Adjust Auto Brightness anymore. Is it somewhere else or have they removed it entirely? I prefer my screen at one brightness level.

Edit: Found another comment stating where it has moved to (accessibility settings). Fixed now.

This is somewhat related, so I am quoting... I just realized there is a brand new setting called "Reduce White Point" under Display Accommodations. NOW I know why the screen looked so dim even in full brightness. Turned it off and voila, I can see under direct sunlight now!

I missed this. Thanks for sharing!

Agreed! Battery life is SUCKING for me on my 7+. I know this is a beta but Apple's QC has long gone out the window. Remember Eddy Cue and Apple Maps?!

Go to settings > general > iPhone storage, and then delete iOS 11 Beta 5 (it may take a minute to load). Then try the update again. Worked for me.

It was every app. What I did learn is that photo was “restoring” 18,000 pics I have on the device which was dragging down the performance to a dead stop. Now that it is finished, which took almost of an hour, this beta seems to be working ok.
