This update killed iCloud and is causing huge headaches. I am getting repeated popups of "messages agent warns to use the "login" keychain. Please enter the keychain password." "Accountsd wants to use the login keychain," "CalendarAgent wants to use the login keychain" etc. but every time I enter the password it does not recognize it. I cannot do anything to get these popups to go away, even if I hit cancel.

What's going on??

You're a developer, and you don't know how to solve KeyChain issues?

Go to your user library, there's a bug in 10.9 that seems to transform folders like 'KeyChain' into files. Delete the file, create a new folder called KeyChain, log out, log back in, solved.

If you do have a KeyChain folder, open the KeyChain Utility, delete your 'login' keychain, and create a new one called 'login', using the same password your local account uses. Solved.

Maybe the slow display of folder contents in Finder, random brief beachballs, and general instability with app crashes will be addressed in this update. But I have a feeling that will start to be sorted in 10.9.4 or so.

i'm starting to sound like a parrot here but most of if not all of the crazy beach balls are gone. Yes, i still get plenty of them (HD), but not the ones that happen for no reason.

Mavericks is still slow however...

Some graphics benchmarks saw some sharp performance decline in the previous seed. Hopefully they fixed that. If that's done 10.9.2 might be ready for release.

That sounds more like a local issue. Are you sure these problems don't occur on Mountain Lion? I know the classic MBP's have some problems with their disk speed at times, but that's all. Everything else is more smooth than normal.

You wouldn't by any chance be able to provide a link to some of those benchmarks? I've been looking all over for some 10.9.1 benchmarks but haven't been able to find any.

Quick question.

Has anyone found that in all of the .2 betas that Safari push notifications don't work?

It only dawned on me today that over the past month or so I haven't seen a single one come through.

Just want to check to see if it's a beta thing before I begin troubleshooting.

Looks like we'll be getting betas for a long time before 10.9.2 gets released. I'm sure glad I didn't upgrade to Mavericks yet.

Just a quick question, I haven't had an problems but I'm wondering are the problems exclusively to Gmail or are these issues effecting everyone regardless of the protocol and service provider being used?

I have the same symptoms except for Exchange. My Gmail account has been fine. If you turn on the Mail Activity window, you'll be able to see when it's stalled out. I have to restart about 20 times a day just so my coworkers don't think I'm ignoring them. Hey, maybe this IS a feature...

Actually, the main bug in Mail for most corporate users is that it is no longer compatible with Exchange. To be specific, it can no longer handle the public folders that an exchange server (or in our case a Kerio Mail Server) provides. At least in 10.9.1 you can no longer unsubscribe from public folders meaning that osx mail starts downloading the entire mail servers public folders.

First I've heard of it, although I bet it sucks. We don't use Public Folders. We just use shared folders on some other Windows server.

I have been looking for any relief from the no new mail bug for months. The Apple workaround doesn't work for me. Restarting Mail is the only thing that works sometimes. I've deleted my Exchange account and re-added it. Doesn't help. My Accounts.plist file is fine. Changing the "Check for new mail messages" setting from Automatically to Every minute doesn't help either.

You can downgrade? I have had nothing but problems since upgrading to mavericks last week.

My clients maintain good backups. We just recovered from their last nights backups and wiped out mavericks and the restore partition.

It happens on SSD's too, but besides that, why should running the OS off of an SSD be a requirement to get a lag-free OS? That's just Apple not knowing how to optimize an OS and relying on better hardware to cover sloppy coding.

Not all developers know how to fix keychain issues, as keychain generally has nothing to do with Objective-C ;)

Sorry, not much experience with KeyChain. Opened the KeyChain utility, but all of them say "login" in the Keychain column. Which one do I delete?

I completely agree with you here, but about all MBPs have been suffering from lag issues ever since 10.7 at least and Apple never fixed it.

Although Mac OS X improved a lot between 10.0 and 10.6, dropped a lot in 10.7 and again improved from 10.7 to 10.9 it's speed is nowhere compared to Mac OS 9.

On an SSD (or newer Mac with flash drive) I think it's pretty near. But the file system could be faster I guess. Anyway, it's a bit unfair to compare OS X to OS 9 which is such a different system – much less capable with worthless multitasking, stability and worse graphical capabilities, etc.

But I do see your point – one would think everything would be insanely much faster on new computer compared to then, no matter how the operating systems differ under the hood.

Man I wish they could fix mail where you can access hotmail and outlook accounts.

Up until the last beta that came out last week, Mail had been a bit of a disaster, but since then my mail has actually been synching (gmail), and no more having to restart Mail for new mail to come in (every now and then). So it looks to me like Apple is at least getting a hand on it (so far).

Agreed, Mail was a disaster, but Apple is defiantly making big progress.

Can't wait till we see Mavericks in final stages.

I wish they would fix Finder. It is the only real issue I have had with Mavericks. It either doesn't open and the screen flickers or it opens and immediately disappears. I have tried every fix I can find and it continues.

Finder has been an underutilized joke for a long time, catering to the lowest common denominator. That's why many of us use Path Finder. I suspect your issue is an OS install issue, though, as I don't know anyone with your particular Finder troubles.

There should only be one login keychain. Are you syncing your keychain via iCloud. Stopping this synchronisation was the answer for me.

System Preferences freezes if I try to open iCloud preferences..really not sure what to do here.

So you guys are telling me that the latest beta graphic performance is slower than 10.9.1 ?

I mean seriously I have a GTX 780M with PCIe SSD and core i7-4771.

The graphic performance ain't smooth at all. It's much better on Windows 8.1. You know that random jitters and stuttering in Finder are annoying the hell out of me.

Evenworse my system came with Mavericks preinstalled. Bloody curse....

Hello Apple... please unlock the 60FPS cap and fix those crappy Nvidia drivers. This ain't funny anymore.

I hope they fix these issues

I have a particular problem with space previewing raw images with the space bar. I never had a problem in Mountain Lion or Snow Leopard. Like CR2 files (Canon RAW Files). I also have a little glitch, while copying folders/documents when it's done the progress bar on the folder or documents are still applied even though the files are done copying or being moved into a different folder. The only fix I found on this one was to restart the computer.

That's all I found wrong with Mountain Lion so far except CS4 not working as I wanted to!
