The betas for iOS 7, 8, 9 and 11 were one of the worst ones I've ever dealt with. iOS 7 beta being really sluggish and on the 3rd beta of iOS 11 my phone kept respringing every time I locked my phone

Yeah that I rmb lol. I thought the instant reboot was triggered by swiping down and reveal the notification centre then swiping back up to close it though?

But it's amazing how a bug like this managed to survive all these betas

Anyone else seeing their iPhone very hot (to the point where it pauses charging until it cools down) with recent betas?

I've looked at Console and one thing that's suspicious is that "ClockAngel" (iOS 16's live activity for timer, maybe?) crashes every two seconds.

Incidentally, I may have fixed it by swiping that weird black widget on the lock screen to the left.

I have no CarPlay in this release. Cannot connect error message. Also all the beta are running hot when using CarPlay. At times it would restart CarPlay, crash (sending logs to Apple) or pause charging.

THIS!!!

That new (not removable) music widget on the lock screen went black after the most recent beta installed.
The phone was hot and draining battery at a ridiculous rate (like 5 hours 100 to 0) with nothing in the battery report showing any usage.
scrolling anything stuttered like crazy.

clearing that widget solved it all immediately. THANKS

I installed the public beta profile today (22 Aug) and was offered only Public Beta 4. I installed that and all's well. However, I keep checking and there is no "public" Beta 6 available.

Is the UPDATE on this thread indicating the Public Beta 6 is out in error?

The number of developer betas is greater than the number of public betas.

Developer beta 6 = public beta 4. Developer betas start earlier and are sometimes more frequent. Public betas are, in contrast, “safer”.
