Can anyone let me know if this beta re-enables setting a reminder for an email through Siri? It's been gone since the beginning of iOS 10. At work...that was the most important Siri feature for me.

Every other build of iOS10 has been terrible on my yr old 6s. Around 5hrs of usage max. On 10.1 beta 2, im finally getting around 7hrs of usage.
Probably just a dead battery - Get a replacement. They degrade massively. Always try to do this just before the 12 month point. Apple will normally replace for free if you kick up a fuss. Has worked for me on every phone I've ever owned.

Just give me my large clock click on the 'music playing lock screen' back.
No iOS 10 for me until then.

Thats crazy...im still on 10.0.1 and my battery life is insanly good. Better then any phone ive ever owned. 2:17 usage 6:30 standby time and still at 87%. On 10.0.2 or any other ios ive had id be lucky to be at 50% by now.

Apple today seeded the third beta of an upcoming iOS 10 update to developers for testing purposes, one week after seeding the second iOS 10.1 beta and a month after releasing iOS 10 to the public.

Registered developers can download the new iOS 10.1 beta from the Apple Developer Center or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile is installed.

iOS 10.1 introduces a new "Portrait" mode for the iPhone 7 Plus that allows it to use the two built-in cameras to create shallow depth of field portrait photos with blurred backgrounds.

To achieve the blurred look, the image signal processor in the iPhone 7 Plus uses the wide-angle camera to create a depth map, dissecting the different layers of the photo to decide what to blur. It works on people, pets, and objects, but does require good lighting to achieve the proper effect.

The update also likely includes bug fixes and other under-the-hood improvements to address issues that have been uncovered since iOS 10 was released.

iOS 10 has been described by Apple as the "biggest release ever" for iOS users, with features that include a redesigned Lock screen, a Siri SDK to allow third-party apps to integrate with Siri, and a completely overhauled Messages app with stickers, a full App Store, Digital Touch, Bubble Effects, and more.

Other features include a dedicated "Home" app for HomeKit users, new facial and object recognition capabilities in Photos, and redesigned Maps and Apple Music apps. For more details on iOS 10, make sure to check out our iOS 10 roundup.

I have actually tried a few weeks ago. Showed 86% capacity. Couldnt argue much.

Anyone having trouble installing? Mine pops up the Terms and Conditions screen for a fraction of a second before hiding it before I can accept. I'm in a loop and my iPhone 7+ 10.1 beta 2 is unusable at this point.

Stability of 10.1beta2 has been fine, much better than beta 1. only had one crash in landscape always pulling up CC accidentally, no camera crashes so far <knock on wood>

will be cautious in updating to this, when public beta 3 comes along (in a day or so I would imagine)

Safari keyboard fixes (now switching back to letters after punctuation, sometimes not capitalizing first letter after double space for period)?

I thought that was always the case if you turn off Live Photos?

I turned off Live Photos because I don't really care for the feature, and haven't had any issues with music stopping.

Anyone else having issues updating from beta 2 OTA? Have an iPhone 7 Plus stuck in a update/reboot loop. It acts like it is updating and reboots as expected, then prompts to update again. Even selecting the "update later" option causes it to immediately reboot and try to update again. Then it reboots, Settings has the red "1" badge, it prompts to update, and repeat.

Yeah, go to settings and accept the update. It'll ask you for your passcode again. That's what worked for me anyway. Good luck.

Hold lock button until slide to power off. Slide to power off and let phone shut down. Then power it back up, enter passcode when prompted, open Settings, General, Software Update and then tap Install and follow the prompts. Definitely something they need to fix as I got hit with it too.
Thanks, that worked. I've never had an OTA issue before ever (but I know a lot of people have.) I actually went in to usage and deleted the update so it would download again just in case I somehow got a bad download. What was really strange though is that the OTA Update showed as a ~50mb download, but when I went into usage to delete it, it showed that the update file was using over 600mb. Oh well, at least it was a relatively simple fix.

I don't know if this is the case, but I'm betting iOS unpacks the update, then creates a new copy of the system partition to apply the update to. Then once the update is applied, it swaps the new copy with the old copy and reboots.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is how *I* would do it. This way you can verify the integrity of the new system and do the update with less risk of ending up with an unbootable device.

The 600MB is probably the temporary copy of the system partition.
