Please point out where in that statement it says "developer betas agree to install it only on testing devices and not their everyday personal devices. Failure to do so is a violation of the Developer TOS. Highly recommend does not mean required. You are 0 for 2 today. Pack it in pal.

No. It’s not “required”. Here we go again trying to legislate ignorance... IT’S BETA SOFTWARE. IF YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING COULD BE BROKEN, DON’T INSTALL IT!!!

This would be good, but to make the dock more useful, why is it limited to adding apps? Hopefully it will change but its looks good.. I guess Apple did that on purpse because they want you to use Spit view?

Sorry, I did not read the whole thread yet and don't now if already mentioned:

Could it be this is the first update since iOS 10.3 Beta 1 and every following one that is pretty small? Only 345MB on my 9.7" iPad Pro. If I remember correctly even every new of the many 10.3.3 betas had been always 1.1-1.3GB depending on the device.

Maybe APFS is finished (for now) and you don't have to install almost the whole OS again with every update.

P.S.:
Thank you Apple for changing the App Switcher back, the new one had been really inconvinient. :) At least I read it several times here. I only started the update a few minutes ago.

Edit: Installation also was very much faster. I think they converted APFS to a new version with many if not every update before, since it had been introduced in 10.3.

Definitely a much better experience on iPad Air 2. It is significantly less laggy on Beta 3. Beta 1 was unusable and beta 2 was better but buggy. This beta is much more responsive now, especially with quick taps.

I’m very happy that sliding down notifications now shows all notifications rather than “earlier today” and that the apps can now be closed by swiping on the app switcher.

No one has pointed out yet that now the app switcher shows the home screen app icons blurred in the background, and if you touch away from the open apps, it takes you home.
And excellent, deeply missed addition.
Seems like either they noticed or they read my bug report day 1.

This early on even the Public Betas always have issues. They can be installed on your primary device but its not recommended, For those people who have a higher tolerance for bugs it won't be a problem.

This public beta is by far the best first revision I've ever run. There are crashes and problems, but on the whole it's been fairly stable and usable, with pretty excellent battery life on my 5th gen iPad.

My main problems are usability, but that's why I have the beta at all—so I can complain about things like how undiscoverable the multi-tasking is.

Something strange just happened to me, I don’t have developer account, and I am just installing Public Beta Profile on my iPad pro 12.9 and iPhone 7, I found this new update on my iPad and updated it although it’s not available for Beta testers yet, and I didn’t find it on iPhone 7.

Agreed - so much better on my iPad Air 2.

I'm generally finding it much better on the iPhone 7 Plus as well. Animations are a little slow but otherwise it seems much snappier to me.

The whole experience on the iPad Pro 9.7 is crappy.. I know this is the Beta and errors and bugs are expected but even moving apps around or into and out of the dock its hell. Heck, sometimes even changing the wallpaper crashes the whole thing.

I think since it's discontinued, they don't care as much....

I’ve had very few problems with my 9.7 iPP. I’ve changed the wallpaper with no problem. I’ve moved apps around the screen, in and out of folders, and on and off the dock with no problems. I use my 9.7 iPP pretty much all day every day and I just have not had anything more than minor annoyances.

Am i the only one who thinks that this looks like crap? I hope this isn't the final design.

I’m not overly invested in what the word ‘Inbox’ looks like in the mail app. If I’d been developing the app I wouldn’t have made that choice, but I’m not willing to spend a lot of time complaining about it.

Bad news for shared photo streams. When loaded, can't share them from the share sheet. Also, can't select them in Messages for inclusion on an iMessage. (iPad Pro 10.5)

Wow... that's a totally different experience!!!!

BTW, The wallpaper crash stopped after I went into photos for the first time, they presented the new stuff screen and now it works as expected (for the most part)

Moving the apps works at times too, right now I can't get some apps ouf of the dock, and I have lots of troubles to even rearrange them inside of it... Once I'm able to move them around, I can't launch the app until I restart the iPad...

Also, I think they have fixed this but long pressing on a link to open it on a new tab was just not working well...

Anyways...I haven't fully tried DP3 but the 2 previous versions were buggy as hell for me on the iPad Pro 9.7 and I actually enjoy finding bugs and waiting for the next release to see If and how they fixed it!

my voicemail no longer shows
If it’s any help, I had this problem as well. I reset my voicemail password and turned on my cellular data (which had been turned off). So you may try the same thing, but instead of turning your data back on, you can just turn it off and on and see if that works.

Is anyone else having an issue now with visual voicemail?
I did. I reset my password and turned my data off and on, and that fixed it for me

How is Beta 3? Is there any improvement on bugs or battery life? There were a few persistent bugs I noticed like the app switcher not closing all my apps and app crashes but of course that is normal. Were any of those fixed if anyone else saw those bugs? I'm on Public Beta and of course I know there will be problems. If anyone can let me know I would greatly appreciate that.

Thanks!

You’re on the first PB, how can you talk about ‘persistent’ bugs?

How are the betas going? In the past the first few were really buggy.
Last year's first few Beta's were pretty hard for me, but this year's are surprisingly pretty good. I mean they are still beta, so with that should come with an expectation imperfection.

a few minor buggy things here and there, (messages crashes on occasion, or refuses to send a text until I reboot the phone)
I've needed to reboot my phone a few times for other things.
a few UI glitches.
battery feels like less time between charges and feels warmer.

Woohoo!!! I need WatchOS beta 3 because it's only lasting a couple hours now.

That happened to me too but I cycled power on the Watch and the battery went back to normal.
[doublepost=1499729719][/doublepost]Is the equalizer working yet? If not, I may downgrade.

I hate the new multitasking close gesture on the iPad. Half the time I switch apps on my 10.5” Pro the app closes because it recognizes it as an upwards swipe! Not sure if this is because I have my Smart Keyboard attached and when I reach up my finger goes up at an angle when it presses, but this isn’t good. I think the idea is fine, but they need to tweak the gesture so that it has to be a more pronounced upward swipe. It keeps reloading all my Safari tabs when it force quits like that. If they can’t get it sorted, they should just go back to the old way, as I doubt many people are always closing apps.

Also, they still haven’t fixed the RAW photo import bug that causes a crash. I guess I made the mistake of bringing a beta device on vacation, but luckily I was able to use the SD card adapter with my iPhone on iOS 10 to import Sony A7rII RAW files and then send them via AirDrop to my iPad Pro for editing and storage.
