Bought the phone on launch. Went to Genius Bar that following Monday. They all told me they didn’t think a replacement would do anything. At that early in this whole issue, they advised it might be software and told me to wait for news from Apple. Shortly after that I was contacted by Apple support to gather logs and sysdiagnose files.

Ultimately they will honor a replacement but both the apple support technician and I are in agreement that until they know what the issue is, I don’t want to swap out the phone just to potentially have the issue again.

I wish I didn’t sell my 7+ or else I’d definitely have returned and went back to the old phone until Apple figures this out.

Bummer.

Has anyone tried group Facetime yet? Is it reliable when more than 2 persons are connected? With two kids in college, this is an important feature for me.

I absolutely DESPISE the new FaceTime controls - flipping the camera back and forth is now a two button process vs the one it previously was..new interface just plane sucks!

I cannot get my iPhone XS Max to update! I have the Public Beta version of iOS 12.1 (build 16B5059d). There have been three builds of iOS 12.1 so far: build (16B5059d) which I have, build (16B5068i) and just released build (16B5077c). The last two builds have NOT shown up in the software updates section of my iPhone XS Max, but HAVE shown up on my 9.7" iPad Pro. This is very confusing! I have tried everything I can think of to get my iPhone to see the past two updates, but nothing has worked! Any ideas, anyone? Thanks!

I re downloaded the beta software updater from the Public Beta website, and it is now downloading. That seems to have done the trick! Sorry for the waste of time, but thanks to forum member "fullfast" for the tip!

Have had to re download and reinstall and then picked the update up
Thank you very much for the tip, fullfast!

I have automatic updates turned off. How did public beta 3 download itself to my device?

All I had to do was then hit install. This has never happened to me before
[doublepost=1539153840][/doublepost]Also this PB3 update changed the name of my device back to “iPhone”. I had it personalised beforehand

So what do these dot updates bring to us little guys with iPhone 5S? If all the patches are just emojis and stuff for new "X" phones then 12.01 might as well be the last iOS version.

Where is it written the new beta releases are just emojis and stuff for the new phones?

How do you not know Apple is tweaking core o/s components for performance for example, along with new emojis?

As I understand, automatic updates is basically for the automatic installation of those updates, while automatic download of updates is something that's just there as it has essentially always been without any particular user controls related to it.

The LTE issue is with the Carrier not Apple. Do you have AT&T? Pretty much all of the LTE issues are transpiring with AT&T. Their IOT is garbage! Basically there IOT is having problems with the cell towers connecting to the 4G/LTE.

And.... still no Bluetooth indicator in the topbar.... It’s a shame. A lot of emoticons but no basic-indicator. I don’t give any feedback anymore to Apple. They just jokng with another, NEW, figure.....

There is a Bluetooth indicator in the Control Center. I know that the Developer notes say that they are working on a Status Icon for future iOS builds. Not sure when that is releasing.

How's battery life? I usually get the PB or even some Dev betas, but I am loving battery life so much on the XS Max that I do not want to ruin a good thing.

I use Verizon and have the same problems. It's not exclusive to AT&T.
