Developers can download the ‌‌‌macOS Big Sur‌‌‌ 11.4 beta using the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences after installing the proper profile from the Apple Developer Center.

According to Apple's developer release notes, the macOS Big Sur 11.4 update adds Intel Mac support for AMD's 6000-Series Navi GPUs. It is not yet clear if there are also other outward-facing features included, but we'll update this post if we find anything new.

Hopefully, they fixed the insane battery consumption. From 5 hours with 11.3 on my late 16 MBP to 2 hours with 11.4
One kernel process seems to be responsible.

I've only just realised I haven't updated to 11.3 (or 11.3.1)! Big Sur isn't very good at telling me there are new OS updates available.

There is a create Apple Lossless version in Apple Music under file convert. I have not got it to work, something about protected files cannot be converted. Maybe it was there Before, I didn't notice

This is a good sign, we might see a Mac mini tower or a Mac Pro mini tower in the future. It would be great to see a mini tower with some upgrading capabilities to keep machine updated as your needs grow. I would spend the cash on a $3500 mini tower that I could upgrade.

Public Beta available

If you didn’t buy the track from Apple Music, then you have a protected (FairPlay?) file from their subscription service. Most software cannot/will not alter these files.

3 reboots and a lloonngg time installing on my Mac Pro... Still going... Is that normal?

Don't remember the other Betas taking that long, and not with 3 reboots.

LOL. That strikes me as very odd to add support for that GPU. Does any Mac even come with that???

It would be much nicer if Apple added support for the Radeon 5500M and 5300M GPUs that spike power consumption on the huge number of 16" Macbook Pro's that have already shipped. It's a huge problem that doesn't occur in Windows.

It's all covered here in one of the most popular threads on the forums.

Please come out with any M1x or M2 APPLE chip Mac that supports 32GB of Ram
8GB and 16GB are ridiculous even though system on a chip ram is suppose to be more efficient.

Big Navi is running beautifully in macOS 11.4 beta. With the exception of the usb-c port working for usb data. It carries DisplayPort data, but Apple still has some work to do to implement the usb bus for Big Navi, even with today’s beta.

Hopefully Bluetooth stability is restored to 11.3 levels... Also RGB-mode functionality with external monitors was broken in previous beta.

It seems to fix the battery issue. My late 16 mbp13 was down to 2 hours battery life with beta 1, 3 hours with beta 2 and now 4 hours with beta 3. I assume it'll be back to his 5 hours battery life by the time the RC comes out.
