It still isn't possible to set the screen lock to anything other than immediate when the screen sleeps, except ....

Instead of just ignoring attempts to change it, it's now greyed out and a reason given.

I've disabled the automatic authentication and can now set a delay.

In Beta 3, when you maximise (fill) a window using the window snapping feature, it will no longer take into account the Dock.

This means that the window fills all the way underneath the Dock.

See screenshot: Window size after filling. The Dock isn't set to auto-hide.

I hope that issue gets fixed quickly. That is my favorite new feature!

I have Sequoia in a Parallels VM and didn't see the update. I downloaded the ipsw and installed clean. But still no iCloud login.

Safari Technology Preview isn't able to open any website on my M3 anymore and causing a beach ball what needs a force quit to stop it.

Finder says it's also Version 18.0 like the standard Safari. Can't get to the about window because of the permanent error messages to see the build number. So I think the cause is being an older build like Safari that came with DB3. Latest TP is from July, 3.

Now I got through to the window and directly got the beach ball again:

And it's causing this directly after launch:

I'd love to have a "chipmunk" option for FaceTime and WhatsApp video calls. I'd never turn it off.

I'm hoping the following small bugs are fixed:

*) The location arrow is permanently on for system services. ✅
*) Keyboard shortcut to poke Siri into life often doesn't work. ✅
*) A weird one: typing the letter "b" into the emoji picker causes it to crash. ✅
*) 3-finger lookup doesn't work in received mails. This is a long-standing bug so I doubt it'll be fixed. ❌
*) Notifications tend to disappear very fast; probably related to the new feature of having iOS ones show. ❓
*) WiFi icon acts like wifi isn't connected after a reboot when it is. ❌ (seemed fixed but the icon greyed out after a minute)

EDIT: I'm marking them post-upgrade.

I can't reproduce two of your non-fixed bugs because I use permanent notifications and only mouse and keyboard input.
WiFi problems didn't exist for me, but it was turned of before the update and got turned on after it. Not sure if this is standard because I don't use Ethernet that long. I only know that Bluetooth is always on after updates, what is annoying me since many years because I almost never need it and so it's always off.

iPhone Mirroring is not available in your country or region. And with that, Europeans, we are so grateful to our burocrats to keep us in the dark.

On the previous beta I tried to set iPhone and Mac to location USA and also using a VPN with location USA on both but that only brought me the News App to get unhidden and didn't help in that case.

Been running each Dev Beta on my M1 MacBook Air without any hiccups. Haven't installed on my M3 Pro MBP yet. I don't really understand the tiles feature-we've essentially been able to do that for years now by long pressing the green expansion button.

iCloud works with a VM a just created with UTM. The Appstore is not allowing sign in.

I have no actual problems with WiFi itself, it's just the icon.

However, I may mark that as fixed as I've rebooted a few times since I last updated that post and the icon has stayed correct.

I agree with you about Bluetooth. I turn it off after each upgrade. I do the same on my phone, but at least with iOS 18 I can create an actual Bluetooth toggle in the control centre via a shortcut.

Does anybody know if the latest version of Paralells runs on the beta or any of the previous betas yet and allows you to boot into a Windows 11 VM with Windows on ARM without any kind of huge performance hits or anything like that. Yeah, I know the whole (don’t run it on your daily driver routine) but I run the iOS and iPadOS betas, the WatchOS 11 beta and the VisionOS 2 beta on my daily drivers without any issues. I backup often and could easily restore back if I ran into a show stopper pretty quickly. I’ve got an older Intel Mac that I can use with Boot Camp as a backup if I have to as well.

I’d really like to try iPhone mirroring and would be more than willing to put up with annoying bugs as long as I can run Windows on ARM via Parallels occasionally for work when I need it if the trade off was being able to use that feature alone.
Never had any issues, personally. I have Windows 11 and Sequoia running in Parallels on my M1 Pro MBP just fine.

I see the same problem however if you drag the top of the window even a "smidge" - it resizes leaving the dock clear. Not how it is supposed to work but seems to be a "sort of" workaround.

Thanks! I think I’m going to take the plunge. Why not? If I run into a show stopper I can either restore a Time Machine backup or use my iMac. It’s the last Intel Mac I’ve got. I love that 27” 5K screen and will get by with it until Apple puts out an M4 Mac Mini then I’ll buy a 27” 5K external monitor and that’ll likely be the last all-in-one I’ll ever own. It also happened to be the first one I ever owned as well.

I figured why not roll with an iMac and see what an all-in-one is like but it’s just not worth it having to ditch a perfectly good 5K, 27” monitor that was probably half the cost of the device because I need a better CPU and a full SSD instead of a Fusion Drive.

......and the network interface bug from the Sonoma betas are back. Network interfaces will stop working (i.e. no internet) until you delete and recreate them, even persisting through restarts.

Also, despite no apparent CPU spikes, typing is lagging AF
