Has anyone encountered a bug where their camera has trouble switching “zoom modes” on the 11 pro? Mine no longer shows the 0.5x lens as an option when taking a photo, but it appears when taking a video but when zooming in to 2x during a video it glitches and goes back to 1x zoom. I wanted to see if this was a bug or potentially a hardware issue maybe?

Old way:
1. Test the heck out of alpha versions with internal testers, resolve all identified bugs
2. Release beta 1, receive feedback on bugs they missed
3. Release beta 2, bugs confirmed fixed by those who reported it
4. Release GM, no major bugs found
5. Send disks to factory, spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to replicate
6. Ship disks

New "agile" way:
1. Fire entire QA department
2. While date < ship date of new hardware
Post version on beta channel
3. Move beta version to release channel
4. Goto 2

this...really hits home for me.

I’ve been told this every year for the past 8, year around. And the only disastrous consequence that has occurred is a hard reset.

Don’t trust the headlines, folks. It’s a beta, not snake poison.
This beta fixed a problem introduced with beta 2 that made it unable for me to import photos from my iPhone to my Mac, either using Photos or Image Capture.

 Tech Support (including 3 "Senior Advisors") were clueless. Wasted about 6-hours trying out various maneuvers culminating in reinstalling Mojave, none of which helped. One senior advisor told me that unless I upgraded my desktop OS to Catalina, I would not be able sync photographs taken on an iPhone running iOS 13 to my Mac!

They let you do that much troubleshooting even though its a beta? Thought they usually said use stable.

Anyone have any feedback on whether the Mail deletion issues have been resolved. Waiting to get near WiFi to DL the update however don't want to waste my time if this issue, which is the main one I'm having thus far, still has no resolve.

Mail issues continue in my world, just wanted to update everyone. :(

Still not able to switch camera settings while using the app for anyone other than 11 and Pro users...

baffling...

absolutely....

BAFFLING!

Congrats Apple....

The last update cause the voice direction on maps on Carplay to go mute. I have checked all settings and they have not changed , rebooted phone, removed the car from Carplay, re-added, still no voice. Anyone have any ideas?

It appears that this update corrected the voice direction.
Mark this one off the list.

If it wasn’t for the betas, how else would Apple test the software without input from Devs and PB users?

Some people complain just to complain.🙄 damned if there’s an update, damned if there isn’t one

common updates in beta= good
common updates in stable release= not good

Bluetooth still not working properly in my car. It'll show every playlist, even ones I've deleted from Apple Music. And it'll sometimes play a totally different song from the one chosen from a playlist. Frustrating.

Just updated to 13.1.3 and my phone will not activate cellular network. The message keeps popping up and I can load an Internet page. I rebooted several times and it still does not work properly.

(This is the first time I have ever had a problem with an update and this is is the first year I did not upgrade to the new phone.)

*UPDATE* I followed some troubleshooting steps after googling the error and resetting the network settings worked.

You have that functionality...

Check your Siri settings... "Allow Siri when locked"

I do this all day long... "Open Garage door", "Add to grocery list" and so on...

So no.. it is not hard to enable that functionality ;)

No, you’re mistaken. I have that option allowed. This relates to the notification preview that won’t display unless the phone is unlocked.

Here is what happens when I attempt the command from my car:

Naturally I can’t unlock my phone while driving.

It’s controlled by the below setting per app, but it would be good if this behaviour was different when connected to car because that would allow my commands to work:

If I change the above to ‘Always’ then I can ask my commands in the car and Siri will read my messages aloud, but then if I left my phone unattended (for arguments sake)
anyone could see my message notification previews on the lock screen.

I’m amused at people’s perception of software development at large corporations. Here is a graphical representation of my company’s development process, and we are about 1/100th the size of Apple.

There are a lot of moving pieces, and anything reported in Beta 2 is probably not going to fixed in Beta 3 unless a)it’s huge or b) they already knew about it.

Are you sure that is not by design?
