That's the thing though, by the time iOS 7 became stable and smooth we had iOS 8 demoed at WWDC and then we had the public release only 6 months after iOS 7 became perfect.

It'll be the same this year, we'll put up with the iOS 8 bugs for 6 months and (hopefully) get the smooth and stable build in iOS 8.2 only for us to enjoy it for 6 months before Apple begin pushing the no doubt buggy iOS 9 on us so they can stick up another pie chart with adoption rates to boast about.

If anything, this is going to make me not want to update to iOS 9 right away. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Confirm iMessage deleted message timestamp

Anyone able to confirm please if the iMessage deleted message timestamp bug still exists in 8.2b3?

If you delete the latest message from a conversation in iMessage the timestamp of the conversation remains as the time of the deleted message, not the actual last message in the conversation.

Not so sure that is actually a bug.

That is not the way iMessage behaved in any other iOS version, and it's extremely annoying, so to me its a bug :)

It didn't do it before, that's true. But seems like it might be a new feature now despite the annoyance that some might feel about it. And if that's the case Apple might not have anything to actually "fix".

True, can anyone confirm then that iOS8.2b3 still "behaves" this way (bug or feature, whatever).

Any chance they've updated the units of measurement for the UK?

We don't use Kilometres we use Miles
We don't use Kilograms we use Pounds

Hmm and here I was under the imression that the EU mandated you use both, or at a minimum metric, a few yeats ago. Did that fail?

It would be nice for the select (to then copy and paste) to work like it used to. It's still nearly impossible to do good selective copy and pasting now.

After having crappy iOS 8 experiences it taught me why updating sooner isn't always better. Next year I'm holding out for 9.1.1 until I upgrade. I'm with you on that boat

It's so disappointing and frustrating everytime a new beta comes out for this version of iOS 8. I am sitting here hoping my mini 2 will eventually feel like 1 year old instead of 2 or 3. Hoping for all these nasty bugs to be squashed. But every time I hear that a new beta is released, NOTHING is fixed except for frivolous issues I have never once experienced.

But see, that's what you and most of the users on MacRumors don't seem to understand. Your frivolous issue is somebody's major annoyance, and your big frustrations aren't even on someone else's radar.

You're just gonna have to be patient. Apple can't squash all the bugs at one time- if they could, they wouldn't have even happened in the first place. As iOS becomes more and more complex, there are plenty of new opportunities for bugs to go unnoticed. For example- which house is easier to clean, a 1500 sq. ft. house or a 20,000 sq. ft. mansion? iOS started out as a studio apartment, but it's adding bedrooms and bathrooms like mad.

It has been argued that Apple would be wise to slow down and fix bugs instead of adding tons of new features. I happen to agree with that line of thought, but I think Apple's got a few more things up their sleeve before we see a Snow Leopard-type release.
