The public beta does not seem to be released.
it is... -
You need to re-enroll in the beta program which means running the profile file and then the App store will open up to a full install of the beta.

I'm not sure there is a public beta. I was a public beta tester and I had to back into the developer site, as mentioned in this forum, and do the renewal or whatever it was to get the download.... And it doesn't say I have the public or developer version. I think that 17B42a is the only one available. The public beta does not seem to be released.
They are the same. I am not even sure why Apple has a Developer and a Public program anymore. They pretty much have been releasing the same version to both programs at the same time for a few months now.I'm not sure there is a public beta. Oh thanks for that......."the full High Sierra install".....being the beta update. I didn't click to that. They were released at the time same. Maybe to address some security issues, who knows. Not looked at detailed patch notes (mainly because there isn't any .. ) but yes, as mentioned previously by myself and others, you do need to download the beta utility and install it again. After which, it'll take you to the app store and to the High Sierra update page (NOT UPDATE SECTION ON APP STORE) and you will have to re-download the full High Sierra install (which is the beta).
Here's what I have.

Since when does a Beta have a page? Got home, and saw a notification on my iMac saying that it's ready to be installed. Clinking on the "details" button brought be to a page on the App Store. (I'm on the public beta programme)

use this link to Mac App Store page
Code:macappstores://itunes.apple.com/app/id1209167288
for me it doesn't work. it is listed as 4.9GB in the Store but it only downloads 19MB app and starts install window.
maybe i neet to install the beta profile for it to download the full installer?
i tried 5 times and the same mini-download occured.
see the fix, i updated the post.
If I understand your issue correctly then I am not having your issue with your setup. I have a Mac mini (used as a remote server running Plex server, backups, etc) running macOS Sierra 10.12.6 that can access SMB shares on a 2011 MacBook Pro and on a 2017 MacBook 15", both of which are running macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 Beta 3. No problem in reverse accessing SMB shares on the Mac mini either.
No problems there, sorry.
Not working for me. I download the latest beta profile from Apple Dev Center and install it. Then it launches app store automatically and does a small download and installs it then it requires a reboot but when the machine comes back up and you check the app store for updates there are no updates available. The last update installed shows 10.13.1 developer beta version 2. The build never changes remains at 17B35a. Besides also having a similar odd issue with installing the GM I've never had these issues in the last couple years very odd.
