What new wallpapers? Can you share them?

Since people are too lazy to post them here, I took a look at Twitter here's one of them:

Hopefully this update addresses the issues with Safari becoming unstable and unable to load new pages until a quit and relaunch happens.

Exactly! I went back to Chrome for a bit (hey news site videos actually play!) but soon only saw exclamation points for every character on web pages. Never had so many browser and font issues since Mav/Yosemite/El Cap. :(

More performance improvements. Except for bringing Siri to the Mac, I don't know if I need many changes to the functions of the OS. But then again I'm stilled scarred from my experiences at work with Windows 8. It really turned me off on any changes to my OS. Being completely lost in front of a computer despite being a guy who took college level computer classes was a terrible experience which I do not want to repeat anytime soon.

Have you ever seen/used 1Password? Didn't think so. Or you'd never even think that Notes could be a substitute. Not even close. Reminds me of that TV show, "Kids Say the Darndest Things".
I use 1Password all the time on all of my devices and I'm a big fan of it. Read carefully what I said. A FREE and a simple substitute. For most people, being able to password protect sensitive notes that they can share and sync across their devices is sufficient.

I haven't noticed any changes in battery life of significance when going from Yosemite to El Capitan. It'd be worthwhile to do some testing and perhaps not reload everything right away. Perhaps one of the various third party applications you're using is using more CPU time than before, or could be forcing the discrete GPU to stay on, if you have one of those in your computer.

I reloaded everything individually, not by transferring the CarbonCopy Cloner backup, so it should be like a new system. And even just formatted, it was showing max 5 hours at 100% with half of the display brightness and keyboard lights off.
I thought about the discrete GPU...but unfortunately I have only the Iris Pro mounted...As soon as I have some spare time, I'll bring it to the Apple Store for a repair...

What are those apps in the menu bar?

Skype, Papers, Dropbox, Box Sync, 1Password, Google Photos

Just one question: does my network connection stay on now?
It keeps dropping to my synology....

Now you're being unrealistic. There are so many factors that would make your connection drop and you found it necessary to pick up on your macbook pro...

Think about your switch, think about a lousy cable, think about your synology nas...

Apple today seeded the third beta of an upcoming OS X 10.11.4 update to developers for testing purposes, two weeks after seeding the second OS X 10.11.4 beta and three weeks after releasing OS X 10.11.3. OS X 10.11.4 has been in testing since January 11.

The third OS X 10.11.4 beta can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center or via the Software Update Mechanism in the Mac App Store.

OS X 10.11.4 offers a couple of new features, such as the ability to support password protected notes in the Notes app, but like the recent OS X 10.11.3 update, it appears to focus primarily on under-the-hood bug fixes and performance improvements with few noticeable outward-facing changes. Almost all of Apple's OS X updates to date have been smaller updates that improve performance rather than introduce new features.

We'll update this post with any features or significant changes that are discovered in the third beta of OS X 10.11.4.

[doublepost=1455027662][/doublepost]Would be nice to have even more "PRO" things to the Photos -app, i am waiting Apple! :) And i like the Photos -app.

- Fix the way attachments are handled in Mail (christ, a 600 billion dollar company should get this right the first time)

What do you not like about the way Mail handles attachments? Personally, Mail is my favorite mail program of all time.

Uhg. Do we really need updates every 3 minutes. It gets tedious Apple.

Well this update completely screwed things for me. None of my USB drives are showing. I've unplugged, powered down, and restarted. None of them are showing.

As Apple comes out with a new OS every year, preinstalled on every new Mac, would you guess that all these machine do not work as we are already half way to the next OSX?

This is the reason I will never purchase a new Mac at the moment new major OS X version is released, I made that mistake once with iMac 2007 which had 10.5.0 installed. I learned the hard way that using just released OS is not a good idea if one values stability and mental health.

After that experience I made my policy to always wait several updates before installing new OS.

As for El Capitan I couldn't care less about new features, I hope Apple concentrates fixing bugs such as Spotlight, Preview and Time Machine. Originally El Capitan was supposed to be Snow Leopard like bug fix and stability release but at this point I seriously doubt Apple can improve it enough for it to be as solid as Snow Leopard is. It has potential if Apple finally realises that sticking to artificial release schedule isn't the smartest idea...

Nah it's El Cap......my NAS (Synology) works flawlessly with 10.10.5; very flaky under 10.11.whatever!

It must be your OFFICIAL MAC HARDWARE that is the problem, because 10.11 is working great on my PC connected to synology NAS via iSCSI/AFP

First, I was just hoping it would offer a solution. Somewhere there is a problem (for me, in my specific situation) that I couldn't solve. So please let me have some hope.

Second, I've got all new cat 6 cabling, switch is a really good one from Cisco. The synology is next to my desk, within 70cm distance. These are pretty basic and simple hardware stuff and with any other application it works perfect, also I can reach and maintain speeds well over the 500mbps/500mbps internet speeds I'm supposed, but just the connection with my Syn it just doesn't work reliable.

Third, I also tried it with both my MBP and my MacMini and both have the same problem. When I try the same with an old windows box, it keeps it's connection, weeks on end! So I'm safe to assume it might be a software related problem. And it is not just me at home, 5 Mac's at work have the same problem, the 3 remaining window machine's don't have the problem. (And believe me, those 3 die-hard Windows-fan-boys know how to rub it in that your magnificent 2400 Euro laptop can't keep it's network connection)
It's really annoying to have to reboot just to get your connection back as it means I have to interrupt my workflow, close all work, reboot and get back to where I was. A few times a day if I'm "lucky".

So in conclusion, if you don't mind, I keep on hoping that either Synology or Apple get's it's act together and I'm able to have a stable and reliable network connection that does not drop out after 5-20 minutes of being idle, and I'm not capable of re-initializing unless I boot my machine.

Edit: some typo's and (hopefully) some clearer descriptions

Anyone else not seeing an option to change users password to an iCloud password in 10.11.4 beta 2?

I had to disable sleeping (just sleep monitor) to fix that. No issues since... aside from double the energy consumption

My question is have they fixed the crap they un-fixed in the last update with Preview?! If they screw it up anymore I am just going to install Linux on my iMac and use terminal services to a Windows desktop. Really wish I had Bluebeam for PDFs on the Mac.

An update that fixes the bugged System integrity protection not getting disabled after running csrutil disable command in recovery would be nice.

though i still think its an intentional bug by apple to prevent users from modifying their devices, so I'm not expecting a fix until tim is replaced with a CEO that is considerate of others.

Why does this never show up in Canada when they are posted? I am part of the dev. program but never see it in the App Store until later...anyone know?

Except that you'd still be copy/pasting passwords instead of integrated shortcuts. The key to 1Password is the workflow advantages that it offers across platforms. iCloud Keychain has taken a decent stab at this, but still isn't there yet.
The biggest deficiency of iCloud Keychain that on iOS devices one only has access to (including manual lookup of) passwords that are used inside Safari. There is no way to access passwords for things WiFi networks.

But password-protected notes are not meant to solve that problem. They are there to store text that is not something to be filled into any login forms. That can be your Passport ID number to any sensitive piece of text.

Absolutely. 1Password is a very sophisticated and a very hard to replace program. I love it.
What is the difference between password-protected notes and secure notes? Both are pieces of text that are encrypted and that a viewed by going into the application that stores them (Notes or 1Password). Both have nothing to do with web passwords as those are filled in automatically and not looked up manually.

1Password is nice but there are so many things that require manual entry (eg, WiFi passwords, server share passwords, iOS device backups) but can be stored by simply checking a box in the OS keychain.

OS X Keychain has secure notes already and is included free with the OS.
Yes, but there is no way to access that from iOS.

Password protected notes can be used to replace one element of what 1Password offers: Secure Notes. iCloud Keychain can be used to replace another element of 1Password: Passwords filled in by Safari.

Have you compared the current battery capacity in mAh against the design capacity? About This Mac > System Report > Power gives you current battery capacity in mAh, battery health status and cycle count. Instead of then looking up the design capacity and compare current vs design capacity, you can also download the app coconutBattery, which gives you the current relative (to design) battery capacity.

You can also use the app to periodically save the current battery status (manually or automatically) and send your anonymised battery status to their website where you can view how battery capacity of other copies of your computer model (and other models) has developed over time and as a function of the number of charge cycles. Note that these statistics appear to have some bad data in it. For example, the MacBookPro9.2 (mid-2012 13" MBP) should not have any data beyond 44 months (with some prototype copies or batteries manufactured a few months before the first official units shipped this might extend legitimately to 48 months). You can see that data move off-trend from 46 months and get quite sketchy from 60 months onward. But the trend up to 45 months is pretty smooth and thus looks credible. It might be worth comparing your model against this trend (will give you some more ammunition at the Genius bar as well).

Have you ever gone through an OS upgrade (major versions) on OS X? The look might change somewhat but for most purposes you will have trouble even telling that you are running a new OS version. Noticeable changes will be focussed on only a limited number of areas (for El Capitan Disk Utility for example).

If you insist on following beta builds, then yes, you will get new updates every 3 minutes.
