Every little detail involving Apple car is revealed … with we would get that same information about Tesla, waymo etc… I realize it’s probably in the DMV records…
No - Tesla rarely shares this kind of info.

Tesla argues to the California DMV that the current feature set is nothing but driver-assistance features, requiring a fully attentive human in the driver seat, and so California's laws on reporting info about autonomous accidents doesn't apply to them.

Tesla's plan is to continue arguing this up until they reach a point where their internal data says that humans add little to nothing (or even hinder) the Tesla autonomy system, at which point Tesla will shut off driver monitoring and simply have millions of fully autonomous vehicles in customer hands.

ZZZ…..you know how many man driven vehicles clip curbs and are involved in minor to major accidents?? Thousands and thousands and thousands. “Incidents” and “accidents” are not going to even be a bump in the road for autonomous vehicles. Death associated with vehicular travel has been an accepted thing for a very very long time. People think nothing of it.

Something human drivers do routinely and this car will only get better at. That is the benefit of collective knowledge, it rarely forgets or has to re-learn. Humans need to relearn from near zero every generation no matter how well we are taught each time.

Thanks, I certainly read that the latest beta they released stated that in the fine print yet is still touted as “self driving” or whatever they call it now… that whole area needs some serious regulation overhaul…

Even though it's an incredibly minor incident, hitting the curb seems like something that should be very easy to avoid.
Sometimes you misjudge the apex and end up in the wrong spot on the other side of the corner. At least that's what happens at 90 mph. I'm not sure that applies to 13 mph.

Imagine if there was a kid there.
Right?! Might have missed the curb completely since the child would have provided a larger vertical cross section, potentially causing the shop to go out lf business if that one alignment is what saved them. Whew - good thing there wasn't one!

Seriously? Does this stuff need to be reported in the USA? If so my wife would have a daily entry.
It does in California... for test vehicles that could operate autonomously. No offense intended if your wife falls into that category - I support your right to love.

Apple should purchase Tesla. Give Elon his fortune so he can build more rockets to go to Mars. Hire Jony Ive to give the Tesla a redesign in Apples own image. Et voila!
Screw that - every billion is 540 lifetimes' worth of earnings for the average American. The last things any billionaire needs is a single penny more - least of all any of the "space race bois".

Oops... I hit a Michigan™ pot hole and bent a solid cast aluminum front lower link on an Audi that I had (about 15 years ago). The dealer was so surprised at how well it was bent, they had it on display for a few months. The rim had a slight ding in it too, but the tire never lost pressure. They said I should send the rim to the Detroit Road Commission, and get them to pay for the repairs. My insurance covered the entire cost due to how it happened, but I'm sure they weren't happy...

Siri still sucks and Apple is hopelessly behind Tesla. I will retire on my TSLA investment.

not anti AAPL just not a fan of bean counter Cook

You can’t be that confident in Tesla, if you have to come here to bash the competition. Do you think that trolling Apple is going to make a difference in your retirement plans?

Suspect the software did not resolve sufficiently the vertical part of a concrete curb. Mrs Entropy did that when parking our brand new Santa Fe even when using the 360 degree camera.

If the car is clipping curbs, then it sounds like more than the tires need to be realigned.

And how many zeros behind the cost of a realignment of a real Apple car?!?
