Sorry For The Late Response!

... click on "featured" there should be a Quick Link box on right with Redeem there.

Jesus Christ, I was looking along the bottom like in iTunes! lol
Thanks, man!

Is 10.7 as far as you can go with that MacBook?

I 'unno.
Can I run ML on it, too, once upped to Lion?

... if so, be prepared for things being slightly slower and shorter battery life ....
That's OK as I barely touch the thing ever since upgrading to iPad
for all of my daily computational needs.
I just wanna be as up to date as possible so I can be like all of the other cool kids.

And as far as battlife goes, it doesn't matter 'cause the batt on this died a couple of years ago.
I only use it plugged in now.

Be sure to run all the software updates before using also.

Oh, absolutely!
I ran SOFTWARE UPDATE a few minutes ago & everything that can be updated has been.

Good luck!

Thanks!
I haven't done the DL yet 'cause I wanted to respond to this, first.
I'll report back & letcha know how it went.
Wish me lu- ....
Oh ....
You already did that.

...if you can't find a "redeem" you should be able to go to your account and redeem from there.

FYI: since 10.6.8 snow leopard has the Mac App store, you can just upgrade to Lion/Mtn Lion/Mavericks by purchasing/downloading the app directly in the App store.

"Upgrading from OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.
Use Software Update to update to OS X v10.6.8, then purchase OS X Lion from the Mac App Store. The OS X Lion installer will download to the Dock and automatically launch. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete your installation." (if your mac meets system requirements, same goes for Mtn Lion & Mavericks).
from: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP629

NOTE: Anyone else reading this, if you have snow leopard 10.6 and your mac meets system requirements for Mavericks 10.9, (update to 10.6.8), use the Mac App store and Mavericks is free, go directly to jail...uh, I mean, you can go directly to 10.9 from 10.6.8 (or 10.7), no need to get each version in between first.

Oh, Well ....

Thanks for all of the help & advice, guys.

I entered my DL code & was immediately greeted by a window that says
this MacBook mid-'08 o' mine doesn't have the required 2GBs of RAM.

So, what I'm gonna do now is contact the Apple help people &
see what I can do about getting my money back.

Ciao!

(tried to reply earlier, MR forums sometimes don't respond lately, still fixing after hack I guess?)

System requirements for ML & Mavericks are the same, for yours: "MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)", but, I think you were saying you have an earlier model? Go to apple menu, About This Mac, then system report, what is your "Model Identifier"? If it is MacBook 5,1 or higher you should skip Lion & Mtn Lion altogether and go right to Mavericks (it's better & free), I don't recommend Lion & Mtn Lion if your mac is capable of running mavericks. If it is a lower number (such as MacBook 4,1), then Lion is as far as you can go.

Lion will give you more iCloud stuff, nice to have along with your iPad. But, I have to say, 10.6 Snow Leopard was the most stable, fastest OS X to date. Mavericks 10.9 might finally beat it, but Lion & Mtn Lion had issues, mostly minor for some, major for others.

oh, yeah, gotta have 2GB of RAM, 1GB is not enough, even for 10.6.8...just get some here, it's inexpensive and will speed up your mac: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/DDR2/

@benji888
I already checked & my mid-2008 plastic MacBook cannot run a post-Snow Leopard OS.
I've already contacted Apple for a refund.

As far as upgrading RAM goes, I'm really not all that interested in investing that much work/time/money into this.
I just wanted the most OS that was possible for this MacBook, that's all.

So Snow Leopard's as far as I can go?
That's not a bad thing, since, like I say, I hardly use this MacBook anymore, anyway.
I just wanted to be as updated as is possible and if OS X 10.6.8 is it, well, then fine.
Thanks a bunch, anyway!

Well, Apple CS has just informed me via electronical mail that I'm not eligible for a refund
because they don't refund downloaded software.

So that's $21 right down the effing toilet.
Thanks a ton, Apple.
