I pre-ordered two 64GB versions at 4:30am pacific time through Sprint's website. It went smoothly, but I had to make other changes. I have a family plan currently through them with three lines already, and none of them are upgrade eligible for close to a year now. So I added two lines so I could get the subsidized price on the iphones (2 64GBs adds up) and changed the plan to the Everything Data plan. Went through checkout and noticed that my credit card had been successfully "charged". I knew I was in the clear then. Well, I never got a confirmation email until 1pm which said my order was on hold and to call in to validate. So after work that evening I called them and had to go through a bunch of security questions and then I was told everything was validated and that I should be getting a new confirmation email. The lady I was talking to was clearly brand new at her job and you could hear someone else on the line helping her through the process which didn't make me feel like everything was ok like they said it was. Sure enough, today I check the sprint.com/myorder and it still states that I need validation. It looks like this - Image

So I call again and got someone to recheck my order. He said that my order got "stuck in the system" (whatever that means) but that everything is validated and good to go. He also mentioned that because of the massive amounts of iphone orders they have been processing, that it may take until monday or tuesday before I see that my order has actually been processed online and until then, it will state that my order needs validation. So if anyone else is seeing the "validation" message on their order status even after its been validated, then that is why. He told me my order will still ship on the 14th, so here's to waiting.



Just an update, they cancelled my original order # and issued a new order # for me. It looks like this now,

Everything is looking smooth and its comforting knowing Sprint ironed everything out. All others out there with validation issues should be seeing their orders in the processing stage soon.
 
Welcome, it's a lot of fun reading & posting on MacRumors. I always enjoy the excitement when Apple has a new product launch. I'm like a little kid waiting for my new iPhones every year. Oh yeah and iPad and........:apple::apple:

Im just really hopeful that mine will ship soner than the 1-2 weeks estimate. I doubt it though. What kind of 4S did you get?

i ordered at 12pm the next day,had so many issues with atnt i cancelled my order with them

Did you get the AppleCare+ email. If you just reply to the email, they add it to your order ( if you want it). They were not offering it during initial pre-orders.
 
Well a couple of days ago my Order Status said Backordered but now it's back to processing. This is after i received the email about it being headed to the warehouse for shipment.

I think tomorrow will be a great day for most of us getting some clarification on our orders. Hopefully they start shipping them out tomorrow or tuesday. I ordered mine from ATT and my mom's from Apple because for some reason they wouldnt let her upgrade from her ANCIENT phone through ATT's site. If she gets hers before me I'll be so mad lol
 
For those that ordered through AT&T, did you get charged the extra sales tax on the phone like the CA residents who ordered through Apple's site? Just curious.

Yep mine went up to 358.11 for a 32 gb... I guess i got taxed on the unsubsidized price of the phone. I wonder if i can get a refund at a B&M ATT store once i get it. I ordered mine trough att website though.

All I know is this was an upgrade, all billing info is correct, I didn't have trouble ordering so there was no "hit submit twice" issues, but my amex was dinged two $1.00 charges. Online order status still says processing, but when signed in it says I am still eligible for an upgrade.

Very vague and confusing. Anybody else receive this email?

Went into an ATT store today and they don't know anything, not apology, no advice on how to prevent this from happening again. Nevertheless, the order was resubmitted in the store. I give it a 50/50 of going through.

Such is life - I actually expected issues. Telecom companies are some of the most unreliable when it comes to financial/billing, etc. And Apple, bless their little hearts, they try. But I must say they're experts at designing a world class cluster ***k.

My status has changed this evening, no longer back ordered. It is now just "Processed". This is consistent with the iPhone 4 in June 2010.

My bank says "payment pending" and it looks like I'm good to go!

I ordered mine around 6:30 am PST on the 7th through Att website. Until now, my order status is saying its processing. I also recieved 2 emailes from att saying my order is in process, one on the 7th and on the 8th. I ordered $299 phone but my CC was charged $358.11, 20% tax? are these normal?

Same thing happened to me. Apparently CA taxes the full price of the phone which is 500 or 600 I believe.

I ordered black 32gb AT&T, same every year. I thought about 64gb but I've yet to ever use up 32gb on my iPhones or iPads. I almost got a 64gb iPad 2 at launch but I just have never used that much gb's. I think 32gb is just fine for what I do and being that I can't seem to use more then about 25gb's ever, I see no need yet for 64gb.:cool::apple::apple::apple:

I was thinking the same thing. The 64GB was very tempting, but then I checked my phone and I still have 8GB of free space. And depending on how iTunes Match turns out, 32GB may be way more than enough.

I pre-ordered mine Friday morning through AT&T but still can't check the order status. They did however send an email later that day detailing what I had ordered and saying they're working hard to fulfill the order and will email again once it's shipped. Anyone else not able to check their status online with AT&T?
 
This is the 4th email I get from AT&T saying

"We have processed your order and it has been sent to our warehouse for shipment.

Yes u are right, B&M means brick and mortar, physical store.
