A Macbook is still a Mac.

No desktop Macs is true, but there are no desks or desk chairs either.
Not to sound rude, but you're stating the obvious. My original comment is lost on you. It relates to the long running sentiment that Apple has neglected its desktop Mac hardware for years. Apple's recent announcement that the Mac is still an important product seems doubtful in this illustration.

By the way, the laptop is rarely referred to as the "Mac" in fan circles. That tag is reserved for the desktop products—a throwback to the original MacIntosh. Laptops are referred to by their model names.

I never used Filemaker Go. Searching google as we speak.

Update: It is something very different. Bento was a standalone DB product. Go seems to be used in conjunction with Filemaker. Also Bento was not expensive and did the job. One day I will move the DB to Numbers.
Ah, yes, that is a huge difference. I have fm pro on desktop socan create the databases.

I am looking forward to finding out what Mac systems will run the next OS, as I know the 2011 iMac I currently own day's are numbered because of the lack of Metal support. I am also looking forward to hopefully the introduction of more iPad specific iOS improvements, such as multi-user support. We will see....
If I were a betting man I would say it will be supported for this version of macOS -- but next year.... the risk rises considerably.
Your model was discontinued in October 2012, which means it will likely cross that magic 5 year line just after the OS is released (likely in September).... the following year your model will likely be moved to obsolete in the US and then the risk of it no longer being supported in new versions goes up dramatically.
[doublepost=1494574216][/doublepost]What I expect this year (other than being a great event for developers):
- is continuation of work on the iPad Pro and the Mac being extensions of each other when used together -- as well as more handoff functionality, more cloud functionality etc.
- I expect APFS to be on for new installs, but not upgraded by default.
- I expect some major changes in iTunes.
- appleTV will likely have major changes and have both appleTV functionality and "hub" functionality built in.
- I expect appleTV will finally support webcams.
- I expect major work on Xcode, and more work on parallelism within builds that would help use more cores -- making the Mac Pro more relevant for developers re: builds.

What I think is possible is a new Mac Mini announced.

What I would like to see is a new "Mac" (not pro, not mini) [based on 7700K] that is headless and supports higher powered graphics options for VR development going forward.

The wishful thinking is because several products are overdue for updates: the iMac and iPad Pros. So the possibility is slightly higher than normal. Then there is the Apple Drone someone mentioned...

Nothing wrong with wishful thinking though ;-)

And yes, it’s been a long wait indeed!
