Source?

They got paid? What is your source for this?

I don't have access to their paperwork, but for a national print ad, you're going to get paid. I don't know why you think Apple would magically be able to give them a high five and use their artwork for free.

Does anyone know how can you submit photos to Apple so that they can use your photos?
Always wonder where these photos come from... (they always advertise it as a regular non-professional photographer's work)

As for 10.11, my experience is that Aperture runs a-ok so far, didn't encounter any problems for now and Apple is well-advised to keep it this way unless they want to piss everyone off even more.

As for Apple's photo book printing service, I don't understand what you mean by that.
Apple don't use Aperture to print the book you send to them as a file ready-to-print.
Aperture is the software that creates a file that can be printed, much like Photos probably does, after that, Apple forwards these files to their contracted printing companies around the world, depending on your location and there's no further involvement of someone sitting there fiddling with an Aperture set up to do... well what? The layout is done already.

Glad to hear Aperture is running great for you on 10.11! I'm anxious to give it a go!

I only meant, I wonder if someone at Apple used a computer running Aperture to design the layout of these books [like anyone with Aperture can do], or if they used Photos or some other software [iBooks Author?] to do it. I'm imagining there's got to be a few people at Apple who still like using Aperture more than Photos [otherwise why have release notes in 10.11 beta releases stating that certain versions fixed bugs with Aperture].
