Apple today shared a 17-minute announcement video on YouTube for the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, which feature M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chip options, Thunderbolt 5 support for higher-end configurations, and more.

To learn more, read our coverage of Apple's announcements for the base 14-inch MacBook Pro and the higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch models.

Apple also shared an ad for the M4 chip, which is shown after the end credits in the full 17-minute announcement video as well:

The new MacBook Pro models are available to pre-order today and launch on Friday, November 8.

Be sure to check out Apple's video announcement for the new iMac and the new Mac mini if you missed those earlier this week.

Why didn't the Mac Mini get the M4 Max?

Also, the problem with all these videos is the constant reiterating of Apple Intelligence features, that aren't available.
Their advertising is basically saying, buy this Mac to get Personal Context etc, which they specifically highlighted.
How is this not false advertising??

This is so tempting... Looking forward to the reviews of these new MacBook Pro M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max models.

no wifi 7, they are skipping a whole year to get wifi 7 into the laptops, thats just insane at this point. if the wifi 7 was built into the SOC of the m4 they should have done like a m4a or something. since iPhone 16 has it

Mac mini never got the max chip. Why shoudlmit get now when Mac Studio will be filling that spot?

And yet another massive memory bandwidth increase. Still calling out the folks who said when Apple cut back M3 Pro from 200 GB/s to 150 GB/s that it was useless and the right thing to save costs.

Am I the only one who thought the music was way too loud compared to the speech?

i love all those ray traced games sinc I got m2 max, like I bought them all and played them all and what was the best, it cost me 0$. Magic. Adventure games, strategy games, driving simulators, RPGs, you name it, liek all are amazing and with RT no slowdown at all, no battery drain, my laptop stays barely warm. And I can even work while playing bc they all run only in the background I think, at least I don't know how to download them and run. But still it is enough for me to make fun out of my friends owning some AI PC Chips, like how can they even play on such slow computers. I much rather like m4 max with RT games coming somewhere in near decade than playing right now on some ****** AI PC Chips which are up to 3x times slower.
GO GO APPLE!

Considering how well it runs on my M1 Pro chip through CrossOver, I am hyped to see how it does on M4 Max when it is running native code. Gaming on Mac really needed this as a show piece for what M series APUs can do. Most people don't realize how far ahead of the game they are in GPU performance compared to their x86 APU counterparts. Take for example the base fanless iPad M4 that ships with a 20w charger. It matches the highest end AMD full fat desktop APU, the 8700G that gulps watts and needs a softballs sized cooler, while being as loud as a jet engine. If M4 Max GPU is anything close to what Apple is claiming it will be 4x more powerful than the 8700G's graphics and still in a quiet, all day un-corded, thin and portable machine.
