Apple today continued with its ongoing "Shot on iPhone" series, sharing a 30-minute film from Indian film director Vishal Bhardwaj. The movie was shot entirely on Apple's latest flagship smartphone, the iPhone 14 Pro.

The short film, called "Fursat," is described as a "magical story about a man so obsessed with controlling the future that he risks losing what he holds most precious in the present." It stars Ishaan and Wamiqa Gabbi, two popular Indian actors.

Apple has partnered with film directors in the past to showcase the capabilities of its smartphones in professional film settings. The iPhone 14 Pro models feature a 48-megapixel Wide lens and offer a new Action Mode with smooth-looking video that ignores shaking, motion, and vibrations.

They couldn't even upload it in 4K?
I believe it is 4K, it just takes some processing on YouTube's side. Just wait a few minutes. At least when you posted, 1080p wasn't available and it is now.

Why can’t we have 48mp JPEGs in iPhone????.
How the 12MP RAW of the other iPhones compare to the 48MP of the 14 Pro?.

Who has time to watch 30 minutes?

How many times was that retouched and reworked by apple before it was released lol

They could've waited for 4K processing to finish before making it live.
Maybe the responsible doesn't know YouTube that much. It's not like they do a lot on that platform. Comments are disabled and they don't do much SEO on it AFAIK.

Shot on an iPhone 14 Pro.. Then sound engineered, and professionally colour graded in post.
And what? That’s the case of anything professional or semi professional regardless of what it’s shot on. It’s still shot on an iPhone. You’ll be moaning that it was professionally lit next. Do you expect someone be able to whip a phone camera out of their pocket and shoot pulp fiction without any additional effort?

I'm more impressed with the production and the gear they used to capture those moving shots. No doubt they used studio mics for the audio.

I wonder what the budget for this film is. Probably an outrageous amount of money. Then the question arises: couldn't Apple spend its resources better? Couldn't they for example give higher trade-in values, pay their employees better or make their products a little cheaper, instead of financing these unnecessary expensive and superfluous commercial films nobody cares about? Just saying.

I really regret spending even those few minutes I spent rewinding it. The good example of high level of available technologies does not help.

The fact that stunning films are shot on an iPhone is wonderful, that will save a ton of money for filmmakers. And the fact that you can do pro-level editing using a $600 Mac Mini and a $300 copy of FCPX is also amazing. BUT...
You still need a script, actors, some semblance of a crew, someone who knows what they're doing with sound and music. These all need to be done on a highly skilled level to have a worthwhile final product.

Right, because if this film didn’t exist, they’d give everyone a raise, give you 99% of what you paid for a product when you trade it in, and all of their prices would be sliced in half.
Because that’s how huge corporations work.
In fact, here’s a little secret, if Apple didn’t make the silhouette iPod ads back in the day, the iPod would’ve been totally and completely free.

Apple Pro Res usually lets me shoot for two minutes. Would be more impressed if this entire 30 minute video was 4K Apple Pro Res.

Wish I was this creative and wasn't just using my Apple gadgets just for taking pictures, checking email and browsing Grindr.
I wish I had a million dollars to take a few months off of everything to work with a very well-paid professional team on a half-hour film in gorgeous locations in India.
