Take my money already.

I am going to be getting the LTE version. Wish the storage could go even higher.

I am one of the artist/creatives that the iPad pro is targeting and yes it will replace a laptop. The surface is a powerful machine for sure, but it is still running windows and if I have to restart my surface 3 one more time, I will toss it like a frisbee into the wall.

I wonder how they came up with the pricing of these accessories. "Let's see how far we can take this before people refuse to pay for our stuff?"
No, I hear the actual reason is that there are extreme shortages of fairy dust and unicorn poo, that's what's driving the BOM up and we pay through the roof for that.
Don't blame Apple, please.

Great ad.

Can't wait for second gen (Won't be buying third gen myself. Bought the third-gen iPad, got shafted when the iPad 4 was swiftly released afterwards with a proper graphics chip.).

I'm sold! Will be picking one up when released. Not sure what I'm going to use it for yet, but it'll be epic for sure!

They should have included the Pencil with the iPad at the very least.

Why? Most people will not need or want the pencil. Making them pay for it by upping the price of the iPad Pro makes no sense.

Creatives such as artists, graphic designers, photographers, etc who currently use a Wacom can afford it and will be happy to pay the extra $100.

That's generally how you price things... yes. You can design a formula that maximizes profits by figuring how many people will buy a product at what price. Then you increase the price until the total profit starts to drop.

For certain goods, like milk, you want to keep prices low, because you want to sell as many units as possible. With something like technology, you want the price to be as high as possible, because you want to get the most profit per unit, not necessarily the most units.

This is hilarious. I meant, chuck in the Pencil with the cost price. The price wouldn't have to increase.

I think they mean to include into the already high price of the iPad. Wouldn't happen though.

This ad did nothing for me.

The music sucks, and the only example given was using a stylus. Poor Steve Jobs. Astronomy? Pointless. Advertise something that everyone will use.

The keyboard costs a ridiculous amount. No-one will buy it. If you really use a proper keyboard that much, just buy a laptop. The whole point of the iPad is its form factor. That means no stylus, no keyboard, just a clean slate.

The problem with Apple marketing the stylus and keyboard is that it takes the focus away from the iPad. They should have left them to third parties. The iPad sells itself. It's over 3 inches bigger than the iPad. That must be about 50% more surface area. It's bigger than a MacBook. Shine that spotlight on the iPad, and forget about the accessories.

The lack of focus is reflected in all these interviews. The one with Cook recently covered several topics that have been repeated at length. They are never focused like those of Steve Jobs. Just watch Jobs in any interview; he is always present and single-minded. Today, they are marketing blurb that comment vaguely and uselessly on several products, without ever capturing our interest on one. And every time Tim tells us that something is selling well, I think of Amazon and their haziness with the facts.

Sometimes, silence speaks louder than words.

"Astronomy? Pointless." Its not pointless just because it isn't for you. (not to mention this iPad is more for business and the creative type). Its one of many ads that they will run showing different usages. Im an astrophotographer...the Apple Pencil with astronomy, drawing apps is going to fantastic to have! I can plan my photoshoot in-depth before I even leave the house.

I don't know...I think it showed a compelling use case: being able to write and do work side by side with another app especially with the pencil.

The space theme just makes it more whimsical and awe-inspiring. They have been pushing a space theme since it was announced with the planet wallpapers.

I think side by side apps with the pencil will make taking notes extremely efficient. The space theme then just makes it look more fun and beautiful.

And the music theme just... It just obliterated all that 'awe-inspiration'. For me at least, personal tastes I guess.

Really looking forward to getting one. It will replace my MBP and iPad mini.

I am pretty sure that I will be getting the keyboard, as this will be replacing my MBP.
I like to sit at my kitchen table at times while browsing, emails, etc.. In that position (while on a table), I think it will be a added welcome.

I don't know if it's a sign of my decreasing interest in "the latest thing" or Apple slipping a bit, but I haven't felt any particular urge to buy any of their most recent new products (MacBook, Apple Watch, :apple:TV4, and now iPad pro).

I can feel for you here, but my interest is not decreasing in "the latest thing" but rather Apple itself. I have gotten more excited over the new Nexus phones, Surface Book, and heck, even the Blackberry Priv than I have with Apple's new string of products. The MB was a big joke. All we wanted was a retina screen in an MBA, but they gave us this gimped notebook with 1/10 the power of an MBA and 2 ports.

Apple Watch is okay, but not something I'd say competes on the level of the iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Mac, and it really is a solution in search of a problem. Can't say that I'd recommend it to a friend, at least in its current state.

Apple TV 4 was supposed to be a major revolution, but all they gave us was a taller ATV 3 that now has "the future of television" (apps) that have been around for years on other streaming boxes. With the amount of hype they had around this event, I thought they were going to blow every other competitor out of the water. Didn't happen.

And last but not least, the iPad Pro. The problem with this is that it's just a larger iPad. It costs a crap ton of money, has a smartphone OS running with a couple tweaks (Split screen), has a bunch of accessories to give you the full experience that cost another $200+ on top of the large price, and it can't run any true "pro" apps. Does anyone at Apple take this "Pro" name seriously? It doesn't do nearly anything worthy of its "Pro" name. Cook says it will replace many people's computers, but let's be real, at its current state, it's not doing anything "Pro" that would make people rush to get rid of their computers.
