Would you seriously compare the galaxy S10 with an iPhone 8?
The comparison is irrelevant. People are still buying the iphone 8 and you don't know what the masses will do when faced with that choice.

Even the iPhone XS can’t match the galaxy S10.
In what ways?

So what’s hyperbolic? The newly introduced galaxy S10 is as expensive as the iPhone 8 over here. And I’m not lying.
Must be the exchange rates, but the word "insane" is the hyperbolic part.

It’s cheaper than the iPhone XR and much cheaper than the iPhone XS.

If you can’t imagine what this will do to Apple’s market share, you must be living on the same planet as Timmy.
Android is concerned with market share. Apple pulled in $84b last quarter. What's your point? Seems like a good number in revenues, to me, and is a conversation that goes around and around with the proverbial horse taking that proverbial beating.

Better screen, better cameras, better ram, better everything, including better price and coming with airbuds (with better sound) included.

That Apple made those 84 billion in profits in one quarter is proof how overpriced their products are. Nothing to brag about and comes at the expense of their customers.

I rather saw they poured some more of those profits in their R&D to make Siri, maps, services and their agening hardware worth the word premium worldwide.

Even midrange phones come with AMOLED displays these days.

Apple has become the most greedy company I’ve ever encountered. Timmy must be very proud.

Yes the Huawei has this feature for more than two years now. You can change depth after the photo has been taken.

So I can sell myself to Google and China in one device?

I Really don't need Bokeh that badly.

Agreed! Maps is frustrating still where Google Maps updates seemingly daily.

However, the iPhone's processors still outmatch the competition. I like that the iPhone 5s from 2013 still gets updates when the latest iPhone gets them. The 10S will be dropped within 36 months and that is another problem I have with leaving iPhone. Yes it is a trap but the water is lovely.

ugg. You said "Timmy"...

Sounds like a spec comparison sheet and for some the (2 year old) iphone 8 will be a better choice. People will see this as they see it.

On the other hand, it shows there is a different view of Apple than you present. All opinions are valid.

There is a reason the arm-chair CEOs of the world are not running Apple. Their hardware is just fine and is better than the competition. (We can pick apart each separate piece of hardware and assign a weight to the priority of it and see where we end up). If you haven't been reading the MacRumors front page, apple is updating maps and Siri.

No, they were just eclipsed by Samsung and Huawei. Timmy doesn't have be proud. Apple only has to provide products it's customers want. There is the competition for the remainder.

Now, what about that ad? It's humorous.

Whatever. You just will find a reason to defend your company even when there isn’t any.

I don’t think depth control is going to fade away what’s going on with her and Alejandro. That smile and laugh gave her away

This is a really great series of ads.

It shows a feature in use, with its UI, without being too geeky.

Better screen, better cameras, better ram, better everything, including better price and coming with airbuds (with better sound) included.

Your usage of a phone must be significantly different if "better ram" is a concern.

Whatever. You just will find a reason to defend your company even when there isn’t any.

Android trolls are so funny. Just background noise seeking attention.

Unfortunately the truth is that Apple users have the best OS and overpriced hardware while Android users have affordable hardware with lots of features but a crappy OS.

Do you make similar commentary about the handful of cheerleaders who I see positing in virtually every thread, flying the flag for Apple, thinking it is their civic duty to defend Apple at all costs? It seems is those posters who Apple has exerted a tremendous amount of power over...to the point those posters feel compelled to defend Apple every second of the day.

Why do you let an embarrassing company have so much power over your life?

That’s not healthy.

I don't.

Cool.

However, Samsung just released a bunch of really cool new tech. Now when I watch these Apple adds I am left thinking, "is that it? Blurring people in the background?" I mean, it is neat and all but it does not make me want to run out and spend a ton on a new phone. IMO, this ad a waste of money.

Anyway, Ithink we might be loosing our focus.

No. I don't.

You may not understand this is an Apple forum. And that people who enjoy using Apple products certainly have the right to discuss them. Nothing unusual about that.

It's a shame that irritates you so much. Don't worry about "cheerleaders," as you call them. They're just happy with their Apple products; that's not something that should upset you so.

What's not healthy are those that whine-n-moan about Apple products for years and years, rather than finding better solutions that better meet their needs, and ultimately finding happiness. It's like Apple has a stranglehold over their lives, preventing them from moving on, and perpetually being stuck. That's not just bizarre, but unhealthy.

I wonder if on Android/Samsung forums there are cadres of Apple enthusiasts who similarly whine-n-moan about Android/Samsung products, year after year? That would similarly be unhealthy. Any insight on that? Speaking only for myself, that would be an extraordinary and unhealthy waste of my time.

Again, don't worry about the "cheerleaders." They're just happy people, happy with Apple products. Please...don't let them get you down!

No. Those I’m talking about have an unhealthy obsession with defending apple and are basically trolls. But, no surprise you don’t call them out but have no issue disparaging others.

Well, seeing Apples soft- and hardware since 2012 you could assume they’re dead indeed.

What an embarrassing company it has become o_O
Yeah, one of the consistently most-valued companys and brands in the world -still, with one of the highest net-promoter scores of any business in the world-still - they are just soooooo embarrassed.

Let's unpack what you just said...

I have a variety of Apple products, a few desktop computers (even a couple of cheese grater Mac Pros), an iPhone, Watch, iPad, MacMini's, HomePod. And I have enjoyed using all of them; none with issues. As an engineer, technologist, and photographer, their products have served me well for many years.

And I like Apple as a company, including their stance on various social issues.

Guess that makes me a "cheerleader," as you put it.

Since I have no adverse issues with Apple, and defend them as a company, that makes me a troll? On an *Apple* forum, no less?

Seriously? I'm astonished.

Calm down. Don't worry about other peoples' happiness. And please don't let it get you down. That's not healthy.

The ancient iPhone 8 is similar priced as the newly galaxy S10 over here. On top of that, it comes with airbuds included.

You would be insane to chose the iPhone 8.

I see the value that you’re referring to, but why would somebody be ‘insane’ for choosing an iPhone 8 over the S10, especially if they don’t care for android? You _couldn’t_ pay me to use android, even with the galaxy S10 paired with the new earbuds. For some, it’s more about the software experience then it is the hardware.

Reread what I posted and comprehend it. I never said you were a troll. You made a condescending post to another poster. I asked if you made the same commentary to the trolls on this site who blanketly blindly defend apple in every post. Get it now?

Btw...I’ll put my apple product ownership against anyone....I just call it like it is.

Maybe if he was more confident and less jealous she wouldn’t he so giddy about Alejandro. Okay, I know this is just a commercial, but I think this applies IRL. Jealousy will only dig you into a hole. Life tip for the day. As you were…

Apple enthusiasts who like their products and the company who develops and manufacturers them, are trolls on an Apple forum because they speak about them and the company positively. Nope, don't get that.

Total strawman argument......not what I said or who I was talking about. I’m done bantering this with you.

Hardly a strawman. You brought up the notion of Apple enthusiasts who like their products/company being "trolls" on an Apple enthusiast forum. Trying to understand that concept.

I’m slowly but steadily getting out of the expensive eco trap. My next phone is definitely not going to be an iPhone.

The ancient iPhone 8 is similar priced as the newly galaxy S10 over here. On top of that, it comes with airbuds included.

What? iPhone 8 in the same price as S10? Are you a Samsung employee or some, so you get a big discount on all Samsung products?

"Tele"novela potential.
I would love this to be turned into a series of commercials that follow their relationship all while showing off Apple products and their features.

The husband spies on his wife while she FaceTimes with Alejandro on a MacBook Air; the wife writes a letter on the iPad Pro to Alejandro using the Apple Pencil; wife and Alejandro use walkie talkie feature on Apple Watch at work; husband gets jealous and starts sending Alejandro threatening anonymous Animoji messages; husband tracks wife’s and Alejandro’s phone to a nightclub to finally confront him.

It’s a gay club. Alejandro is gay. Husband is relieved. Wife sees that husband tracked Alejandro and didn’t trust her and thought she was cheating. She asks for divorce.

The end.

I get the "playful humor", but I think it's sort of symbolic of the sad state of society. Married to someone and talking like that about another man to your husband? That's supposed to be "cute"? She's obviously egging him on OR doesn't care about the way she is talking. Who would feel good about their wife? Just like how we have gotten numb to violence and horror and negativity, we are becoming numb to the nuances and subtleties of infidelity. Good marketing, sad choice.

The second one is funny.

What? iPhone 8 in the same price as S10? Are you a Samsung employee or some, so you get a big discount on all Samsung products?

He's obviously referring to the 5.5" iPhone 8 Plus which is the same price, $849, as the 5.8" Galaxy S10e in 256GB configuration since there's no iPhone 8 Plus 128GB tier.
