In the meantime triple lenses with 48 megapixels and 10x optical zoom gets introduced.

And Apple? Well they still think their camera’s are a selling point

actually, its the software + hardware combination here that is the selling point, not just the camera.

Did Apple made the wrong version of the ad public again?

Last time, they had at&t logo, this time it’s Verizon logo. The correct version should be one cutting straight to Apple logo at the end, with no carrier logo. The one with Carrier logo is reserved for pre-roll ads, hence it’s normally uploaded as “unlisted”

Does Apple even monitor their own YouTube channel anymore?

Why do you let an embarrassing company have so much power over your life?
Very much this. There's a contingent here on MacRumors who seems to have nothing but disdain for Apple and their products, yet they come back here Every. Single. Day. to tell us this, over and over. Why can't they go do something useful and constructive with their time? Maybe make their own computer/phone company, with better products?

You would be insane to chose the iPhone 8.
I am of sound mind, and recently bought an iPhone 8. Didn't want to pay the price of a XS, didn't want the increased size of the XR, and wanted to replace my aging 6. The 8 is about 3 times faster than the 6. The XR is about 10% faster than the 8. Either one is an enormous improvement over the 6. Similar with the camera. The 8 is the size I want, at a price I can justify. I couldn't care less how many megapixels or gigabytes an Android phone has, because... it's Android, and I'm much happier staying in the iOS ecosystem.

If you dislike iPhones so much, and like Samsung phones so much, why are you posting here instead of over on SamsungRumors?

What? iPhone 8 in the same price as S10? Are you a Samsung employee or some, so you get a big discount on all Samsung products?
No, that's the sad state of Apple products outside the USA borders. There is a real world outside the USA too, you know.

Apple is slacking for the last 3 years. He Mate Pro 20’s cameras are ridiculous, friend has one and took some photos yesterday, the results were stunning.

€679 still isn't the same as €899.

Even if I configure the 8 with 256 GB (whereas the S10 still has 128 GB), it comes out cheaper at €849.

Either way, your assertion that they are the same price is dubious.

The S10 will be released 6 months after the XS. No one should expect that anyone can remain the queen of phones for an entire year. There's always a game of leap-frog between the major vendors. Apple and Google come out in the Fall, then someone ups the ante at Mobile World Congress, then maybe there's another round of releases in the summer.

No. This actually is not a good ad. Not funny. The message is about jealousy and insecurities. These things don’t have anything to do with portrait photos and iPhone.
Apple used to make really sweet on-point ads. Now they seem to be pumping out ads at an extreme rate and the quality has suffered.

He just bokeh’d the dude out of a photo and laughed about it. No anger, no accusation. Seems like a pretty secure reaction to me.

He used the bokeh effect out of jelousy and insecurity after the positive reaction his partner had.
It’s a lame ad overall.

Well if that’s what counts as an insecure reaction in today’s world, congratulations because we live in pretty great times. Because I’ve witnessed how insecure and jealous men and women react, and that’s an extremely mild (and funny) reaction.

Nonetheless the reaction is one that is insecure and jealous.
The woman was speaking positively about her “funny” work friend. Instead of exploring that, the man reacted with a jelousy action.
I really didn’t find it a funny ad.

Well, seeing Apples soft- and hardware since 2012 you could assume they’re dead indeed.

What an embarrassing company it has become o_O
Maybe you should stop spending your time on these forums then.

I don’t know where you’re from but over here the Galaxy s10 is cheaper than the ancient basic iPhone 8 and it comes with the free air buds included. Period.

All I’m saying is that Apple should revise their pricing because imo the iPhones aren’t compelling and imo this isn’t a match in favor or attracting newcomers to the iPhone business.

If you think otherwise, that’s okay with me. I personally think it’s a hard sell.

Over here the iPhone 8 is cheaper (as it should be) as an iPhone XR. Both iPhones don’t offer the quality of the Galaxy S10 and imo even the iPhone XS doesn’t.

For me the latest version of android and iOS are quite the same, I won’t even go there.

All I’m saying is that Apple is pricing itself out of the market here in the Netherlands.

So don’t tell me that iPhone 8 is cheaper. Because they aren’t.

I’ve been hearing those excuses for years now and if they can’t match the hardware all I’m hearing how great iOS is compared to Android to justify the price difference. All I see is the gap between acceptable and not acceptable is reached for me. I’m done with making excuses and I’m done with the excessive greed.
My next mobile phone won’t be an iPhone because for me it’s not giving me the value for money and those half baked services which half of it still don’t work, don’t make me think differently. Using it is more like an handicap than an enrichment.

You're right: an iPhone is a whopping 10€ more expensive in your country.

…which still makes it cheaper than the S10.

Yes, and that would be a perfectly fine argument to make, but you seem to feel the need to embellish it with lies.

Share in EU is only down 1.6 percent points from 19 to 17.3. I don't think that's enough evidence to suggest a crisis for Apple.

You're taking what I said as me confronting you or 'defending' Apple and I'm not. In the context of the discussion I was having, I merely stated that no one manufacturer can maintain a lead over the other hardware wise for very long. And that's a good thing.

As for iOS, I'm a fan, you obviously are not. I use iOS not because it is factually superior to Android, but because for me, it is the best OS at this time and place in my life and work.
