Over 2 decades! Toy Story has 'bloopers' in the credits. I remember watching it at the time and thinking how cool it was that they put that much work into 'outtakes' just to make the movie even better!

Haha...
I remember that now!
I wanted to "err to the side of caution" so I couldn't be accused of exaggerating.

yah i have to say that one's pretty good even if Google's usually my last resort...

Im happy that you like your SE but for me its just a small 6S (which is already outdated) with the same 3 year old screen as the 5S, 720p resolution, no 3D touch and the first generation touch ID sensor. Nothing new about it whatsoever.

Nothing new unless you were coming from a 5C, which was my situation. Touch ID, Apple Pay, I'll be a hazard to my budget now for sure. Fortunately I live in the boondocks so that should reduce the damage.

And now back to playing with the cases, a bunch of which arrived from Amazon this afternoon. They're all meant for the 5S I presume, and they all fit the SE perfectly. One has a package of five different jelly bean colors, plus they threw in a microfiber cloth and a couple of styluses. Not quite as much fun as watching Cookie Monster watch cookies baking, but close enough to good for a Friday afternoon.

Sure... my two old cats run the place, I just manage the can opener. Fortunately they don't like cookies, so it has all worked out okay (so far).

Lovin' my SE, so can't quite agree with you (since it works great even though there was no Cookie Monster in the box when I opened it on Monday afternoon). iOS 9.3 solved my residential dead zone issue too, since WiFi calling works great even over my laggy DSL.

Ah, I was referring to the musical Cats. I love it (and cats, too).

Look... nobody is "offending you" because we think the statement - "this behind the scenes skit is comedic, NOT a documentary" is false.
People are "offending you" because WE ALL KNEW THAT!!!!!!!!
Pointing it out is equivalent to calling everyone here mentally stunted... it's like showing us proof that dinosaurs didn't live with man, thus Flintstones is not real. It's like giving us a list of French chefs to convince us Ratatouille wasn't based on real events. It's like pointing out plot holes in Rugrats to show us all that a set of talking infants actually couldn't have had those adventures...
To be blunt- it is COMPLETELY obvious to us all, unnecessary to mention, and (again) bizarre that you started it off with the assumption that anyone whatsoever thought it was real. Literally not a single person had intimated that. Your "clearing up of that misconception" was nonsensical. There was no misconception!
We are all sitting around scratching our heads & wondering "why on earth did he think he had to say that?"
Fake "outtakes" rolling after credits of animated films are VERY common practice & have been for at least the better part of a decade. We all get that it's done for comedic value - nobody (else) is wondering if it was scripted. It very obviously was.
What is there left here not to understand??

Wait, what?

You're saying that the behind the scenes was fake?

Now I'm flabbergasted. What happened to truth and honesty? I dunno... :(

"Cookie Monster" ?
Does Apple think we are all 6 year olds. I know some of the FanFools act like it but this cloying condescension is getting very old.
The six year old in my 40 year old body was tickled blue. ;)

Haha! Why should Apple invent anything new, when all you people are impressed with cookie monster?! LAME

Interesting commercial, I suppose. But such doesn't in the least encourage me to buy an Apple product. But perhaps it appeals to potential female buyers more than men.

Am I the only one that squirms when I see Apple getting into "cutesy" stuff like this instead of standing on the merits of their products.

I think it started with A Bug's Life (?)

ETA: hmm, thought I quoted the post about how long fake animated bloopers have been around.

Funny for kids I guess. I don't think it would go down so well in the UK. Americans seem to have a cookie obsession. Here in the UK we have biscuits which actually have variety.

Both cookies and biscuits probably 'Designed in UK/US' but 'Baked in China' ;-)

Cheers !

Well...
to be fair- if you Google "outtakes" right now, the VERY top hit is a link to this ad! =P

FYI Google does not define words, it merely lists the most popular uses of a given word or phrase at that particular moment in time.

Ummmm.... thanks?
(another victim to Captain Obvious!)

Point being- no need to split hairs... call it outtakes or behind the scenes; it is still VERY clearly a "created" piece.
So, the poster going on and on and on about how he's certain this was staged and did not occur organically is still a bit of a head scratcher.
The Google search only proves that whether this could be slightly better described as a "fake outtakes" rather than a "fake behind the scenes" or not DOESN'T MATTER.
Everyone across the internet (other than the single poster in question) seemed to realize it was a joke with no confusion whatsoever with regards to the intent. No one else seemed to be angry at Apple & feel "tricked", "fooled", or "misled". THAT is the point..... NOT outtake vs behind the scenes nuance nomenclature. Seriously... who cares?? That is NOT the topic here- that's an infinitesimal strand. No need to fixate.

Fair enough, this is "just" the internet and errors are commonplace, things are posted online in haste and hsit happens. OK. But, for those of us who still care about the finer points of language and communication, saying one thing and doing another is strictly out of bounds.

I find that these cute little clips could equally be described as "outtakes" or "behind the scenes"; obviously so do MANY others.
It is NOT causing any confusion.
I adore a grammar Nazi as much as the next guy, but you're on some next level.

I am a bad loser too.

Being "meta" about the animated production process has existed probably since the start of animation, you had bug bunny cartoon characters clocking in which their punch card into their day jobs as Warner Bros Cartoon characters :).
