Last month, Apple shared a charming iPhone 6s ad starring well-known Sesame Street character Cookie Monster, who used the iPhone 6s and the always-on "Hey Siri" feature as a cookie-baking aid.

The spot, which garnered more than 8 million views on YouTube, is one of the most popular ads in Apple's recent history, which is likely why the company today released a followup "Behind the Scenes" video depicting a humorous second look at Cookie Monster as he shoots the ad.

In the ad, we see some before and after shots, showing more footage of Cookie Monster waiting for his cookies. Cookie Monster asks over and over again when his cookies will be ready, and has a cute conversation with Siri where he offers her a cookie when they're done. The video continues on with the ding of the oven and Cookie Monster's excitement over the finished cookies, ending with Siri wishing Cookie Monster good night.

The two ads starring Cookie Monster are two in a series of iPhone 6s ads that have starred various well-known celebrities using different iPhone 6s features. Previous ads have focused on everything from Live Photos to 3D Touch and have starred Jamie Foxx, Bill Hader, Jon Favreau, and Stephen Curry.

"Cookie Monster" ?
Does Apple think we are all 6 year olds. I know some of the FanFools act like it but this cloying condescension is getting very old.

Now I know what the Apple logo would look like without the bite taken it. At first viewing it almost didn't look symmetrical since we're so used to it with the bite taken out. I had to re-watch the end several times to believe that it was symmetrical.

Almost like an optical illusion - the right looked bigger than the left. Very strange.

it's tough not to get that excited over a cookie...

A second appearance well... ok.... if it becomes a third appearance.... its time to move on.

Maybe Apple is targeting kids ?

No, this is definitely BS, "cooked" up by by Cookie Monster's publicist. Cookie Monster is not the lovable clown he makes himself out to be; it's all PR. In reality, Cookie Monster is an temperamental, egotistical 47 years old has-been who spends suspiciously large amounts of time in the presence of underage monsters. He punched out a photographer for one of the tabloids just last week. Typical Hollywood *******.

It's worse than that.....I suspect this one is a fraud and not the original voice of Frank Voice! Frank OZ is 71..... We have a scandal here!!!

do people seriously believe this is real

Believe what is real? The ad is on YouTube so, yes, it's real unless I'm in one of those "Total Recall" dreams where nothing is real.

Cookie Monster, yes, he is a real Muppet. Yes, he loves cookies more than anything in the world.

No, no one thinks it wasn't scripted. Obviously it's poking fun at itself and BTS features in general. Parodies are a signature of Sesame Street bits.

With this and Taylor Swift Apple Music ad, seems Apple's advertising is finally again reaching old heights.

Are you people going to try and offend me any longer? It's obvious that this behind-the-scenes is clearly a mock-up, there is no way that this legitimately happened behind the scenes (unless the actors are just drunk). It could have happened on the recording scene, but it was definitely intentionally made up by the actors just because they thought that was funny. Might not be scripted, but definitely stupid and not funny at all.

Look... nobody is "offending you" because we think the statement - "this behind the scenes skit is comedic, NOT a documentary" is false.
People are "offending you" because WE ALL KNEW THAT!!!!!!!!
Pointing it out is equivalent to calling everyone here mentally stunted... it's like showing us proof that dinosaurs didn't live with man, thus Flintstones is not real. It's like giving us a list of French chefs to convince us Ratatouille wasn't based on real events. It's like pointing out plot holes in Rugrats to show us all that a set of talking infants actually couldn't have had those adventures...
To be blunt- it is COMPLETELY obvious to us all, unnecessary to mention, and (again) bizarre that you started it off with the assumption that anyone whatsoever thought it was real. Literally not a single person had intimated that. Your "clearing up of that misconception" was nonsensical. There was no misconception!
We are all sitting around scratching our heads & wondering "why on earth did he think he had to say that?"
Fake "outtakes" rolling after credits of animated films are VERY common practice & have been for at least the better part of a decade. We all get that it's done for comedic value - nobody (else) is wondering if it was scripted. It very obviously was.
What is there left here not to understand??

Stop The Press!

'Outtakes' have now been redefined as "Behind The Scenes"

Funny for kids I guess. I don't think it would go down so well in the UK. Americans seem to have a cookie obsession. Here in the UK we have biscuits which actually have variety.
But then the UK is becoming more americanised we have maryland and a lot of biscuits are called cookies, Besides who can resist the Cookie Monster.

Coookieee num num num :D

My guess is he is probably underage and almost believed it, and is warning others to not make the same mistake!

I don't mean real as in, it legitimately happened, I mean real as if what shown in the ad was unscripted and was legitimately happened while filming the ad. The answer is clearly no.
I think the last bit was ad libbed when Cookie Monster said "I wish I could close my eyes".

Just like the blooper reel at the end of a Pixar movie is actually thousands of hours of work and render time just to be funny!

Sure... my two old cats run the place, I just manage the can opener. Fortunately they don't like cookies, so it has all worked out okay (so far).

Lovin' my SE, so can't quite agree with you (since it works great even though there was no Cookie Monster in the box when I opened it on Monday afternoon). iOS 9.3 solved my residential dead zone issue too, since WiFi calling works great even over my laggy DSL.
Im happy that you like your SE but for me its just a small 6S (which is already outdated) with the same 3 year old screen as the 5S, 720p resolution, no 3D touch and the first generation touch ID sensor. Nothing new about it whatsoever.
