Won't be getting anything they announced. Disappointing.
The iPad Pro was cool but I don't need that having a MacBook Pro - it's enough to suit my needs.

I think a lot of people, like me, who are thinking about replacing their aging iMacs (or Minis) will want to see both the new Mini and a new iMac before making a final decision. Looks like we'll be waiting a bit longer. MacRumors get in there and find us release dates for the new iMacs! All other priorities rescinded, crew expendable.

Timmy celebrates the 20th anniversary of the original iMac with an outdated hardware.
Yes, just hoping for a silent speed bump to the desktop i9 processor (8 cores); the MBP 15" has the i9 6 core, so it's faster now, but with all the limitations of a laptop.

Maybe they will do a full design refresh next year, but for me, the 5K 27" TB3 etc., design is just fine. Just would like a mid life processor update. Heck, even if they just put in the i9 6 core from the MBP, that would be better.

Oh, well.

Mac centric is a joke when the leave out the iMac and normal MacBook.

iMac deserves a silent speed bump at least. Ridiculous how long they go in between updates. Now unles they sneak one in after their earnings call or sometime in Nov to match the MBP graphics tease, figure have to wait until at least Spring 2019. So stupid.

So many factors come into play as to when new technologies are announced. Many times there are issues with materials and manufacturing that need to be ironed out. It's unwise to announce new technology if you cannot deliver and meet the demand.

Well how confusing is the macbook lineup? Are they just going to let the 12" Macbook die? (they probably should) If you want a light laptop and use it for simple things you'd probably buy the cheaper air with larger screen. If you don't care about it being super light you'd probably buy the 13" entry level MBP at the same price.

I was surprised they left it as two lines. If they were going to kill it, I suspect they would have done so today. Only thing that makes sense to me would be to have it become a more expensive executive/ultraportable option, while the Air may get only tiny spec boosts until the price comes down.

In which case, it is kinda hilarious that they wound up with switched names.

They also left the iPad Pro 10.5''. Both Mac and iPad lineups are a mess.

Unfortunately, no sign of it yet.

As for the new MacBook Air, I wonder why Apple hasn't started integrating FaceID? Why not totally bypass fingerprint?

Cost.

Even without cost, they already have enough unevenness in their line-up (iMac and MacBook not updated yet). Why have their cheapest laptop have a shinier biometric than their most expensive one?

I'm curious how they will do it, as a lot of actions use the TouchID sensor for 'consent' (Apple Pay, security permissions). On the phone they solve this by telling you to tap the home button.

I am gutted. I wanted a new iMac. Not buying the old one when it could be replaced any time. Except now.....

Been there. Built a beast of a pc and put the standard mac desktop image on it instead and have been quite happy.

Hanging on to my 2014 iMac until all of my apps run (and run well) on iOS. Then I'll make the leap to an iPad Pro.

I got none of the stuff I wanted, but I still thought the presentation was really cool.

Love their focus on becoming greener, even if it's just lip service.

I found this event to be a bit anti-climatic to be honest. As much as I love MacOS, the greed is getting a bit too much for me to swallow at this stage.

£1969 gives me a Mac mini with an 8th gen 6-core i7, 16GB Ram, 1TB SSD, Intel integrated graphics
£1850 self build gives me 9th-gen 8-core i9, 16GB Ram, 1TB Evo 970 SSD, GTX 2070...

I never had any issues paying a bit extra for my hardware (currently on a 27" retina iMac from 2014), but this feels a bit excessive

My feel exactly, they are slowly putting themselves in a place where not many can buy, lots of people were "happy" of paying the Apple tax, but now it is getting to the point like the Apple tax is twice as much as a regular computer...

They are pricing themselves out of many peoples 100$ at the time.
On a positive not it was nice to see some refresh, even thought the min could have had a redesign since it is getting very old.

Apple has priced themselves out of my home and pocket, sadly. First the iPhone pricing last month, now Mac mini and iPad Pro pricing. There has always been an Apple tax, but it's never been this egregious that I can recall.

I have to leave the ecosystem as my devices cycle out. I didn't expect this when I switched in 2005. Sad.

Took the "courage" this year and bought a PC and an Android, it took little to adjust, but hey I saved 50%.
Would be happier with an Apple device, but the money saved are worth!

I use Windows and Android daily at work, it wouldn't be a big switch for me at home. My iMac, iPhone, and iPad at home are fine right now - but as they get to where they no longer do what I need, they'll be replaced by Windows/Android devices. I am disappointed in Apple. I know I'm not their only customer so I don't expect them to cater to just my needs, but they haven't announced anything that's compelling to me since the iPad Air 2 and iPhone SE. I'm probably an unusual case though, I'd still be running Snow Leopard if I could.

You are not alone, and it is a pity, switched to Apple in 2000 for OSX and it was back then, nowadays it is too overpriced for the difference, especially as QC in software thanked.
