"Hey Siri, read my unread emails."
"Okay, you have 3 unread emails. First email...blah blah blah."
"Hey Siri, delete that email."
"I don't know what you mean."
"Hey Siri, read next one."
"I don't know what you mean."
"Hey Siri, next email."
"Okay, here is the first email."
"Hey Siri, NO read me the next email."
"I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean."
"Arggghhhhhh!!!!!!"

So true... The ad is hilarious but Siri is still unusable for something more complex than a single command. It's a gimmick I use to set my alarm clock at night. Sad, after 4 years of refinements.

Good idea for an ad, we can all relate to having recieved one of these emails.

Hi MacRumors

Remember you have a worldwide audience. For those of us not in the US it would be useful if you explained who Bill Hader is. Good journalism never assumes the reader knows what you know.

Thanks
Bill Hader also has a worldwide audience. Very funny guy.

It's 2016, and Apple Mail still can't filter spam. Ouch.

I kind of agree, except maybe on what year we're in. As somebody who has to monitor many public-facing email addresses, Apple and the tech world at large, aren't the ones who should be joking about spam. They should be doing something about it. And this isn't even spam they're talking about, its fraud, which is still ridiculously easy to perpetrate via email and still wrecks the lives of isolated and vulnerable people who are only just getting exposed to this stuff.

Next Samsung ad:

"Hey phone, read my email."
"Sorry A-lister, your only email was an attempt to steal your money, and only a crappy phone would let that through."

Admittedly, not so funny.

I like Bill Hader and the commercial is alright.... but I don't care for Apple using celebrity endorsements. I feel it cheapens the brand. I'm supposed to want this product/service/etc... because some random comedian is on a commercial
I have to respectfully disagree. Apple has been associating its products and philosophy with celebrities since at least 1998, when the highly effective "Think Different" campaign first aired.

MacRumors also has a US audience.

MacRumors talks about this thing called 'China' all the time. US citizens do not understand there are countries other than the US, and panic.

This is a perfect ad.

manages to be totally funny and informative about one product's feature at the same time.

I think that it is a great commercial but Apple needs to be careful here. The "Hey Siri" feature only works while plugged into power and this commercial advertises different which you know people are going to complain about it and try and make a thing of it.

"Hey Siri" works on battery power on the 6s, not the 6. You need to have your 6 plugged in for it to be listening. This is called evolution of technology.
More like upsell. Mine has been on since I got lollipop. While the screen is off. While on battery. Simple software update.

how much battery does Hands Free Siri use on the 6S? Is it little enough that you don't need to turn it off?

You probably have low power mode enabled. Check your battery settings.

Lol, wut??

Did you somehow miss the 50 replies where knowledgeable users let this guy know that the "alway on" Siri is ONLY on the 6S/6S+, not the 6/6+??
You know, if you have no clue about something, the polite thing to do is shush, not spread misinformation, based on your ignorance of the topic.... just saying.

Hmmmm....
I always thought Spam filtration was done on the server side, NOT in the application.
For example: when I check my Gmail, I have the EXACT same mails, whether I'm using the app Spark, or the Gmail app, or Inbox, or Apple Mail. You see... since all of those are merely apps displaying my email, & none of them actually do anything other than organize & present them I don't have to worry about whether they can "filter spam" or whatever. Make sense?

Scratch that I stand corrected it works in the 6s without being plugged in
